Great. In this case I'd say that the existance of such will actually increase Detroit's chances of acquiring Roberts. -

Does Roberts have a NTC? If he does, perhaps Yzerman can convince him to waive it for Detroit. I know Roberts and Yzerman are old buddies. -

The label "star player" would imply someone capable of high offensive production (someone like Nagy perhaps). Lapointe is no such player, but him coming to Detroit still makes sense from a Kenny Holland strategy perspective and I'd even welcome such a move if the price is right. I would also be willing to try O'Neill or perhaps Fedotenko for the right price. -

For sure. They'll do anything they can to keep him, but in the end it's up to Doan.

Attended the exhibition game Swe-Can today and got to see Helm play. Sweden won 3-2 after trailing 0-2. Helm didn't play a lot (as expected) but logged time on every PK. Downey tried to spear someone after the game.

Mursak plays in the B-tournament in Denmark. I read that Ritola made it.

1) I like Hordichuk. He's not big, but a very aggressive enforcer. He's always willing to stand up for his teammates. 2) Perhaps Boulton. He's a bit dirty.

Fedorov is part of the past. There is absolutely no reason to bring him back.

Grigorenko does not seem all that interested to join the Red Wings. May and Stamler are the only ones that I have any real interest in. Ryno might prove to be worth it down the line. -

Perhaps the Boogaard-Laraque scrap was a bit of a disappointment, but stil it was a pretty impressive effort by Laraque the way he handled himself and Boogaard. Laraque looked down right small compared to Boogaard, but he managed to keep his balance and lock Boogaard up. Had he fallen down in the beginning Boogaard would have made him pay bigtime. Janssens is one feisty player. He hits and he scraps. I like that.
