I'm not that surprised by Kindl's improvment. Some of you might remember me comparing Kindl to Fischer and talking about how Fischer had a great sophomore year. From what I've gathered, Kindl does have a physical presence on the ice. He will even fight. Even though it remains to be seen if he manages to carry that with him into the NHL, he's got the size for it (6'2, 199 lbs). When he fills out his frame he will be similar to Brendan Witt in terms of size. The rest is simply a matter of attitude.

i'd take that,...the islanders wouldn't but i would They could accept it if Hunter is playing like crap come trade deadline time. But as of right now, he is on a pace for 40 points. Why would the Islanders trade away one of their best players for Mowers and a pick? Never gonna happen.

Very few players are untouchable on the Devils, plus they recently acquired defenseman Brad Ference. I'd say they will move whoever brings them the best return and keep them under the cap when Elias return. White's relatively cheap contract will make him an interesting option for many teams. Plus I think he's UFA next year.
-
He used to be a goalscorer in the DEL, which isn't considered a top league by any standards but still. I remember him breaking a leg not too long ago. Might have something to do with it.
-
And I'm talking in general. Just look at the guys these teams have had in that spot.
-
I realize that dealing Osgood wouldn't fetch anything of value, but dealing Legace and keeping Osgood as a starter?
-
Like whoever is the 12-13th forward. Be it Deveraux, Williams, Mowers, Hackert or Jackson.
-
But isn't that typical of this organization? They would rather have a "scorer" doing absolutely nothing on the fourth line, instead of having a role player that can contribute night in a night out even while recieving a minimum of ice time.

Ugh, so much for the future of Sweden. Thanks for the report though, NN.
-
I've seen him play plenty of times. The Olympic team will look nothing like the current Swedish National team. Lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if he was passed over as the third goalie.
-
My guess is that Liv must take a spot on the National team for a shot at a contract. He's facing tough competition from several goalies for the third spot in the Olympics. He'll get another shot in the World championships. Aside from this, I honestly don't think Liv has got what it takes to be a solid NHL goalie. He's nothing like Lundqvist for example and Detroit has plenty of goalies in the system already.

I'd be interested to hear how Loui Eriksson is doing for the Stars. Thx.
-
I care about this team's needs more than individual players.
-
I only know that Liv was drafted in 2000 and he will have to be signed by June (or something) or else Detroit will lose his rights.
-
I've asked this question already, and somebody went through the trouble of asking the Ducks' fans. The answer is very much. Personally I'm more interested in either Witt, Exelby or White. Salei is the most realistic player though.

The difference being that Jagr can use his big frame to protect the puck. Hudler can not.
-
Sorry Seth, sending the Sharks a bunch of mediocre prospects aren't gonna land us top prospects like Michalek, Hennessy and Clowe. No team does blockbuster deals with prospects. It's too risky.
-
Not yet perhaps, although I've posted about him before. He's a mean defenseman. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla...pid%5B%5D=55180 http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospect/shane_o_brien He's currently ranked 8th among the Ducks prospects as you can see.
-
If I were to trade with the Ducks I'd ask for Shane O'Brien.
-
Wouldn't do much for the Blues. Daze is injured and Khabibulin or Lalime doesn't make a whole lot of difference for a team with many weaknesses like the Blues.

IF YOUR WHERE OFFERED THIS TRADE WOULD YOU TAKE IT

It would be stupid not to make a deal like that. Zetterberg is no less of a playmaker than Datsyuk. Even if he was Staal is a much better player than Datsyuk. Period. -
That had fairly little to do with Kindl himself. People were pissed because Kenny and company once again had neglected the need for a physical top 6 forward.
-
I'd trade him for a package including an elite powerforward.
