Steen hasn't really showed anything lately to warrant a trade for Zetterberg. Not even in a package deal.
-
Z. His playmaking ability is on par with Datsyuk's. He's not as skilled with the puck, but he's still more skilled than about 80 percent of the rest. He's got the right attitude and will develop into a excellent two-way player in time.
-
Pretty much. It certainly wasn't Kenny Holland the GM.
-
Franzen, no doubt.
-
And that's exactly why Ottawa wouldn't think twice about turning that proposal down. Lidstrom is superior to Redden, but Hossa is equally superior to Datsyuk.
-
Hmm... yeah, now that would be something, wouldn't it? Actually, my opinion differ on some of the Euro's. Liv is too high. Hudler is too high. Tolsa is underrated etc. I do feel that Quincey probably should be a little higher though.
-
True. True.
-
Strictly hypothetically. Sure. Lidstrom isn't gonna be around forever and Hossa is such a force -even in the playoffs.
-
I don't think Datsyuk will be traded, but... I wouldn't mind a package consisting of Malone and Beech from the Pens. Detroit should get a pick as well.
-
Yeah, I consider both RedWingsCentral and Hockey's Future reliable sources, even though my opinion may differ slightly on their rankings.
-
Why would Ottawa trade Spezza? He's making next to nothing at this point in terms of salary, and he had around 80 points two seasons ago... Not in the NHL he didn't. He's had 55 pts in the NHL, but the Senators have taken it slowly with this guy. He's coming off a great season in the AHL, and he's much better now than two years ago.
-
I don't think Ottawa will trade Spezza, he's the next big thing. He'll have a breakout season this year.
-
I think $6 M is a bit more than he can command, but who knows with the contracts signed recently by other defensemen. Detroit could afford him at $5 M next season. I agree that Schneider likely wouldn't interest Ottawa.
-
I'd never trade for Redden unless I could sign him to a long term deal before that happens. Too expensive a player to rent for one season only.
-
If Kenny could get rid of Schneider, I'd be interested.
-
Yeah, skating is more important on large ice surfaces. I take it that this guy is a pretty good skater, otherwise he wouldn't have made a name for himself in the DEL and certainly not been noticed by the Red Wings.
-
Franzen is no less of a scorer than this guy, and he'll be a checking forward in the NHL. This guy will have to prove himself in the AHL first.
-
Definitely Simpson. Bombardir is not very tough.
-
Is that supposed to be funny?
-
Maybe, but coming from the DEL and joining the NHL is a huge leap. The AHL is a step up for this guy.
-
Because he hopes it might give him a shot at the NHL some day. Very few native players go from the DEL straight to the NHL. A top prospect might, but this guy isn't even drafted from what I know.
-
Hardly. Grand Rapids material.
-
Never heard this "rumor" before. Although Detroit is slightly heavy at centre, I wouldn't worry too much. Kenny doesn't have the balls to make any real changes to this team.
-
I believe Satan "talking on the phone" was a crack at the trade rumors surrounding him at the time.
-
says you... along with probably every GM, coach, scout, player, equipment manager, announcer, referee, zamboni driver, and anyone else who follows hockey... Hossa is by far better then Datsyuk, and is worth far more... Yeah, Hossa is a FORCE.
