well, let forsberg come back, even though i think he's done, let the wings beat them since we're are so over rated according to every hockey analyst. i rather be the underdog in the playoffs, come in under the radar....

the avs aren't what they used to be, even with with "Divesberg". NBC and VS are trying to hype up the matchup by bringing up the past. The avs suck, with or without Forskin , its time to trim the mullet and move into the 21st century hockey.

yea, i guess he still draws allot of attention, but to call him a difference maker in a game is a joke. knowing his injury history, and the fact that he didn't play much during the regular season, a difference maker is just over the top. the wings won't sweep this round but they will come on top as long as they play full 60 mins. i've noticed that after a decent lead they hold back and play around too much.

enjoying watching him play, really under the radar kind of player. maybe thats his key to success... go wings....

none of the Rocky movies shouldn't be even mentioned in the same category as Raging Bull.

how can Rocky be a great sports movie, it doesn't even depict the sport proplerly. Boxing is a game of strategy not a slugfest like rocky. Rocky was a alright movie, but a crappy sports movie. but i do agree that "any given sunday" was good, showed the good and bad of football.

by the way, you can't classify baseball movies as sports movies, baseball is a game not a sport. and yes, when i put mystery alaska on my list, now that i think about it, that movie was ok, but not top 5... a good sports movie is the one that depicts the sport the best, not has a good story line... this would shorten the list a bit....

Hoosiers or Rocky? Rocky is a joke, not even close to real boxing. As for hoosiers, come one, i've seen better acting from my sister on christmas morning when she didn't get the barbie she wanted. I wouldn't say Slap Shot is the best, but in my top 5, which include: Miracle Invincible Mystery Alaska Major League I know that some would argue that field of dreams or friday night lights fits in the somewhere, but really i'm not into kevin costner portraing a guy in midlife crisis or billy bob trying to be a coach of a damn high school team.

i don't think you guys see the big picture, it's not about the offer or trying to do it behind burke's back...it's the fact that he is getting a $3.7 mil raise...now you have to look at the rest of the league and the ripple effect it will have...now every other half assed defenseman with potential will ask for a significant raise just like penners....so the price of the players will go up jus t because some gm is getting desperate at keeping his job...

screw the new jersey's, its another way for the nhl to make more money off the few fans that it has ....$400 for an authentic jersey? i can get an authentic autographed jersey for that much right now...bettman and his new nhl can shove it, he is killing the very product that only few can appreciate, but how long till before even the most loyal will walk away....

skates - synergy 1500's (comfortable as hell) shin and elbows - bauer, but want the rbk 7k's shoulders - easton, but i want some old joffa's, the eastons make me look like a linebacker... gloves - easton, love them. helmet - bauer, want the rbk 9k (light and comfy) i stick with easton sticks, i love the SL grip and ST grip...stealth and elite are to overprized....also warrior sticks are pretty good, kronick....

oh god how i miss the good old hockey....i think this is what the nhl is lacking right now, good ol' bench clearing brawls...look at the games now, you can't even stay awake watching the crappy product of bettmans nhl....BRING BACK THE FIGHTING!!!!!!!! this isn't hockey, it's unscripted figure skating...

out of all the places in the world i started to play in texas...i never played in michigan, just skated once in a while...then joined the military and moved to florida where i started surfing...after texas i put in for alaska cause i couldn't picture not playing hockey...we play here year round, it's awesome...after playing for 3 yrs now i moved up slowly from novice to beginner C...doesn't matter if i play on a novice team or an advanced team, as long as it's hockey....this $hit is more addictive then drugs...

i'm in alaska...get to play hockey allot during the summer...i was stationed in texas before i got to play only in the winter, had a nice arena...otherwise, i'd suggest moving......

i know this is a little late, but seems that a little of the canadian fans rubbed off on the american fans...i listened to them sing the US national anthem at the beginning of the game just like the canadians did in ottowa...personally i liked it, showed support and patriotism...it should be like this every game....

....but this is worth speculation. I just glazed over this article without thinking abou it twice, but what if there is some truth to it...what do you guys think... Eklund at it already.. sorry, screwed up the title....its just a datsyuk rumor, that's all....

he broke a finger, not his hand....his play has been good in the beginning but it just went down the tube right before the playoffs started...if he continued his play like he did when we aquired him, i'd be all for it, but now, no thanks...

The only 2 things i blame the loss on is that we had less luck then the ducks and we didn't cash in on our opportunities....we played awesome, goaltending was sufficient to carry us to the cup, we just didn't get some of the bounces we needed, made mistakes that cost us....that's it, plain and simple...

i agree, Dom would be the logical choice, but i have a few problems with that...first of all, hasek isn't getting any younger, 43yr old goaltender isn't the best idea...second, we played with fire when we signed dom and his groin to a small contract, luck was on our side and we came out pretty good, but i don't see us getting lucky 2 yrs in a row....third, i wouldn't pay him anything close to $2.5 mil, that's just not safe with his age and injury history....as for getting jiggy, no thanks, it will cost an arm and a leg to get him in a wings jersey...

just to tell you Matt how good and important this site is to me, i check Letsgowings.com before i check any other sports site on the net....tsn came in second....but this site is the most up to date for wings info....once again...thanks for your continous hard work and dedication to keep all of us die hard fans happy...Thank You... as if the economy isn't bad enough, hell, lets raise taxes....and what does Illitch do about it all?..he blames higher taxes to drive away the true red wings fans by raising ticket prices....and hockey, to some, is a way to get away from everyday worries of making ends meet....this is the reason why there were empty seats at the joe last season..... i think the backlash already started, the seats weren't sold out this playoff run....and i have a feeling that there won't be too many sold out games during the regular season due to poor economy and high ticket prices.....
