herniated disk sucks, i have the same problem, my LB5 is pushing on my sciatic nerve, had pain shooting down my left leg and couldn't bend down...i started getting steroid shots and now i feel 100% better....and the dock also told me to keep working out to strengthen my back....so hope that his isn't that severe, otherwise he might be far from return...

this is what happens when you put an idiot with no heart or understanding for the sport in charge of it...you ban fighting and you will loose the oldschool hockey fans and you'll see a bunch of corporate pricks show up at the game...fighting brings balance to the game, keeps the goons in check, and prevents idiots like tootoo from taking dangerous runs at your star players...you take that away, and bastards like him will go head hunting...then you'll see players like modano, crosby, ovachkin, datsyuk, zetterberg, etc, get carried out on stretchers...instead of banning fighting, fire bettmen...

i agree with you 110% on the part of head injuries, those must be avoided cause they become chronic injuries....but my point is that thomas put his head down, knew what he was doing and put himself in an injury prone position...i personally am not going to back off just cause of the neglect of another player...and i'm sure that nobody was aiming for his head.... exactly my point....players became too complacent...

well then thomas should've kept his head up, that was a clean textbook hit...with your reasoning they should take away open ice hit all together....this is hockey not figure skating, injuries are bound to happen in a rough sport...
