Most of the series i was at work, launching and recovering my jet....but i was lucky enough to watch game 3 and 4 in my dorm room....my roommate and I stole the couch from the dayroom so we could watch the game in comfort,but after some Jim Beam even the floor was comfortable...I remember stevie getting the cup as i was calling my buddy to rub it in since he was a huge philly fan...remember it like it was yesterday...I even smoked a cuban cigar that i bought in Saudi just for that occasion....oh...what a great year...

bootland???-consistantly inconsistant shanny- maybe 6 yrs ago... chelios- he'll get knocked straight into a retirement house ...we don't have anyone that stands out as being a though guy, mac had the presence but it was slowly fadeing...all people remembered about him was march 26 1997 and thats what intimidated those that still rememberd... ok, so hatchers size might scare some small russian offensman coming at him, but how many times did we get scored on because hatcher was too slow to be usefull...hell, you want intimidation, we can get tyson to learn how to stay up on skates and would be just as useless as hatcher....

hatcher didn't do s**t for the wings....you wouldn't believe how many times my neighbor came over to see if everything was ok cause i was yelling at the tv (cause hatcher was a pylon)....it was embarassing to watch hatch, hell, i'd take probert back if he wasn't locked up somewhere in south florida....

ok, now that we haven't won the cup in 3 yrs we are too soft (even though we won the presidents trophy and actually made it to the playoffs unlike 14 other teams)....and then you say it like hatcher and mac put fear in anyone...sorry, but every time hatch was on the ice he was a huge liability, he was slow and easy to get around; and as for mac, he lost his step since 98, he's gotten slower didn't contribute as much as the rest of the grindline...we need grit not knuckles....

i still don't understand why we signed a bootom feeding d-man unless we pay him with pucks and hot wings....our defense is pretty decent after we get kronwall...unless he's a GR player with a 2 way contract...

Kocur? come on.. if your going to argue my point use some hard hitters that CAN skate (LaPointe, Avery, Brashear) I never said this was a HUGE signing.. all I AM saying is that you need to be careful when you are looking for hitters and physical players now.. the NHL is doing everything they can to de-value the one dimensional player (which, IMO is how it should be.. weed out the 'hangers on') i agree with you there, we don't need a bruiser that does just that, we don't need another liability, but we do need someone that can hit and contribute offensively or defensively at the same time....

before you start hacking someone's opinion make sure your own holds water....toughness has nothing to do with hooking or holding anyone, it's laying on a heavy hit and being able to drop the gloves when needed. a physical presence on the ice is what the wings need.....btw, i don't remember McCarty, Kocur, Domi, etc.... being a bunch of hacks that can't skate...

i'm still waiting on the official announcement about his signing, that way if it is true i can add to my already pretty s***ty monday..... is eklund the only site reporting this???? couldn't find anything anywhere else..
