relax, the Hawks should hang their heads proudly... they won this must-win game (for them). If they win the next, then its a brand new series. awesome second period comeback by our Red Wings. pretty sad seeing all that momentum completely lost in the third. The Red Wings need to play all out like they can for 60 mins, not just a period or two.

I just grew, in leaps and bounds, with respect for Babcock. No player, no matter the ego or past achievement, should be above whats best for the team. We all love Cheli, but he's hardly been playing up to snuff as of late. Its probably worsened by Cheli's age and all the injury-time lost this season. If JR and the Sharks want to give Chelios monster ice-time, they are most welcome to it. As for the anti-American jab, I don't get it... Rafalski and Lebda get gobs of responsibilities, arguably too much.

Ours is the last team that should be whining about aging players... The Wings have and would roster players approaching their mid-40s.

chelios was a big waste in this game, perhaps even for the entire season. We probably just saw his last game in the Winged-Wheel, unless it appears Rafalski's injury has worsened... is Meech skating??

But when they nonsensically isolated Getzlaf (and Pronger) for their immediate reaction after the final faceoff... and to somehow insinuate this was somehow workmanlike poise?? they simply skated off fer chrissakes!! How can anyone try to squeeze anything out of skating off/no reaction?? You want passion? see how Zatta blatently stuck his nose in whilst Selanne why trying to sweet-talk the refs after the game? I'm sure some common Swedish-Finnish cuss words were being shared. Anyways, the Conspirasist in me sez CBC was trying to sour the analysis of this series... especially since tsn/tsn2 is taking over coverage of this series.

when I see JT and all that talent it makes me allude to Sergei Fedorov at his peak. these guys have gobs of talent and ability, undoubtedly the best on their teams... but Sergei just was never meant to lead. heaven forbid if we had kept #91 and instead shipped out Stevie Y before the 97 Cup. I say keep Thornton and Marleau, maybe bring back Owen Nolan and slap the "C" on him. Roenick and Claude are dead weight that must be jettisoned.

I am sick and tired of the Refs making all these "sympathy calls" against the Wings. look at all the physicality allowed in the other playoff series. Its almost a cruel joke. The refs painted themselves into a corner with all the calls... making the cut & dry "too many men" call almost unbearable to stomach (for the Jackets).

can't pick your spots once in the Playoffs. Really should assume (if at all) that it will be Vancouver... they've looked the most impressive thusfar. the Nucks absolutely stymied a hot Blues team entering the playoffs. The Nucks also have a freakin good goaltender named Luongo. and worst of all, them Nucks will have plenty of time to rest! A Wingnut can only hope the dogfight between the Sharks and Ducks goes 7!
