you think expansion was done to help the league?? ha! more like the greedy owners with their arms out reaching for their piece of that monstrous franchise fee. the sad part is, Bettman and the league would rather see these new teams flounder and fold than let them move to more profitable locales (subverting the franchise fees).

with this gut-check at the deadline, Babs might as well reduce our top line's ice-time. better to give the kids a chance to break-in now rather than in the playoffs. a late injury to anyone on our top line will surely kill our chances (knock on wood).

Folks are frustrated cuz we recognize how close they are (or should be) to winning it all. A player or two would make a huge difference. Now if we were bottom scrappers like the Kings or Lightning, a body or two would hardly help and no one would give a hoot.

everytime Babs is forced to stick longterm with Homer-Dats-Zets it exhausts our top PP unit. worsened so during the grind of a 7-game series. you gotta roll with a balanced attack or physical teams will check our one-line into playoff oblivion.

All blame aside, it was Kenny himself who declared this team's need for a depth defenseman and a secondary scorer. by all accounts, he only accomplished half of those goals. optimists, bandwagoners, sourpusses alike... the greatest perception on how well Kenny has done will be reflected by the number of empty seats during the opening rounds.

Seems to have a pretty good nose for the puck! His size is an undeniable asset. maybe he can learn a mean streak ala Jiri Fischer... Link to his vitals I know i may be backtracking on myself... but lets hope this kid is not trade fodder come Tuesday!

true... but the Thrashers were bonafide contenders last year. moving kozzie might free up enough funds so they can keep Hossa. Slava Kozlov would have made a sweet linemate for Dats. oh well. I'm starting to think Kenny is thinking way, waay out of the box. uh oh
