so Hagelin is in the CCHA, whoop-dee-doo. Anyone forget Mattias Ritola who was in the system for an eternity (he was a fourth round pick 2005)?? Swedish centerman prospect to boot, and he's still only 23... dumped for nothing.

no way this guy signs here and accepts assignment to AHL. i can't see Babcock accepting another one-way project like Leino. I'd rather see the Wings give our drafted youngsters a shot at a roster spot.

There goes Ozzie's chance to get #400 at home... unless Ozzie gets the next start on Wed at home against the Canucks... which i severely doubt.

everyone is coddling Ozzie to get his 400th... I say, what use is a backup if he can't push the starter? Get Ozzie his W, then use him regularly.. otherwise ditch him

i just dont see the point of running J-Ho into the ground, especially when the team hangs the goalies out to dry.

Well then, I dont think we entirely differ. its the team/franchise that signs these players to ridiculous deals, it should be *solely* them who should be punished. Rolston probably will retire because no team at this point can shoulder the cap hit, even at the reduced re-entry weight. Go ahead, punish the team... individuals should be released and scott free if you asked me.

The next CBA definitely needs to address this issue... its horrendous to see good players potentially end their careers outside the NHL because of this cap loophole. I bet the devils could very well waive Kovalchuk tomorrow and he might just clear too. I say if a player clears waivers he immediately becomes a free agent, no strings attached, ineligible to play for the waiving team.

this is perfectly watchable! but since just about all redwing games are on FSD locally, does this mean it will always be blacked out?? how about when I am over in Windsor? any Windsor-forumites out there with GameCenter??

Nik practically has a blank check for him to write in how many years and at what payrate. heaven forbid he hangs them up... but if he does, I hope Ken takes a good long look at Eddie Jovanovski who likely will be UFA at this year's end. -
