I just watched the game on tape (DVR)... Fleury certainly did not look all that great. Hank and Filppula looked strong on the puck all night. Perhaps even more remarkable was how crisp the Wings' passing was overall as a team. Lets hope they can keep this kind of pace from here on out!

For next season anyway, I can't see Kenny getting handcuffed into another long-term deal. This probably means no top-six forward, unless it comes through trade somehow. Kenny might have no choice but to spring for a big one or two year deal for a goaltender (turco? chris mason??) of course, there's also a huge possibility that Lids hangs them up. If that's the case, the Kenny's needs would drastically change.

If we don't make it to the second round... a goaltender. probably a stud d-man if Lids hangs them up.

they should re-seed at the Conference final-level (final four)... this would ensure the Cup finals are not the usual (last two years notwithstanding) snorefest.

Bert clearly has succumbed too much into Detroit's finesse game. He fails to shoot on blatant scoring chances, sends blind passes to the open wing, and gets separated from the puck far too easily. Bertuzzi just needs to simplify his game. He must accept that he's not some cog on an energetic checking line. He's got to take it upon himself to be the Go-To guy on his line... shoot more ala Samuelsson. gawd I can't believe I'm saying this. *gasp*

just bring back the Canada Cup/World Cup two years from the next winter olympics.

Something is off on this team (Blackhawks). Maybe its the goaltending or a simple leadership issue, I don't know... I just can't see them taking it all this year. Mind you, I like our chances even less this year, oh well.

let the KHL take whomever they want. If they can sustain a whole league of superstars, more power to them. More money for our American and Canadian kids.

I'll be the first to admit and eat crow... Babs did a phenomenal job once into the elimination rounds, an even better job in OT of the gold medal game. I'll happily eat even more crow if he can get our Wings back to the Conference finals...

From what I saw in the Olympics, it was good to see Franzen skating hard. It was also good to see Rafalski play some inspired hockey. Heck, even Filppula looked good. Datsyuk certainly did not look out of place. I am starting to think more positive on this last stretch of the season. the trade deadline is also right upon us... who knows, maybe Kenny can make a subtle addition to help spark our cause!
