When I say lately, I mean 5-10 games, not just the last 2. I'm not trying to rip Hasek either, but he AND the team have not been playing great for a couple weeks now.

Babcock is completely right on this one. Hasek has not been great lately at it is, and it was an obvious dive.

The Flames clearly had more energy than the Wings last nite. There really wasn't much to call last nite, maybe one or two that were missed (both ways), but that's about it. Schneider was on HockeyCentral this morning and admitted that injuries may be catching up with them.

What's the price their seats go for again... 6 games for $75? If the price is low enough, someone will buy the ticket.

Kronwall has been atrocious, defensively. However, overall lack of urgency when not playing certain teams, is my biggest disappointment.

Matt Cooke is GOD. Why, because, um, he scored one nice goal in game 7 against the Flames a few years ago!!! While I like the style of hockey he plays, calling him a tough guy is a reach... In a word: OVERRATED!!!!

It's not really about defending him. It's that there are players that have done similar or worse things (including players on this team) and no one is up in arms about it. That's my issue. I have stated many times I do not condone what he did, but I really don't believe his intent was to injure Steve Moore, and I respect the fact he would like to stick up for his friend and teammate. But I guess that's my opinion. Regardless, he's served his time. Yeah, a real heavyweight! IF Steve Moore was such a tough guy, he should've stood his ground. I have yet to see Tie Domi, Probs, etc. shy away from anyone. But, I guess he fought TOUGH GUY Matt Cooke, so he's a stud. This thread gets sadder and sadder by the moment.

IMO, a way worse hit: WAY WORSE. The difference, the end result.

WTH is Matt Cooke? Matt Cooke is a fighter? Wow, just wow. Heck, I'd fight Matt Cooke and I'm 5'9". Fighting Matt Cooke would be like fighting Kirk Maltby. Steve Moore is SUPPOSEDLY a heavyweight.

I figure Flip and Hudler will battle it out for the last spot, but Flip will probably get more playing time cuz he plays better defense. It's really not a slight on Hudler, but teams generally go with more experienced players in the playoffs. He will get playing time next year.

You say Bert intended to hurt Steve Moore. I also feel that Steve Moore intended to hurt Naslund. THere was no other reason for Moore to go that low to try and hit Naslund.

Of course they were different, McCarty was a Redwing. While, I don't condone what Bertuzzi did, I don't condone what Steve Moore did either. This is exactly why the instigator rule needs to be removed, so panzies can't take runs at star players and then run away when a tough guy wants to fight him. If you want to take cheap shots at another player, expect consequences, don't run away like a little girl. Do I feel sorry for what happened to Steve Moore, yes. But if someone ran Datsyuk, Zetterberg or Lidstrom, would I want someone to take action, you betcha. And it is very true, if Steve Moore did not get hurt, we all know there would be no discussion about this. What Kyle McLaren did to Zednik is probably worse, yet I haven't heard a thing about it in years. Wonder if it's the fact that Zednik is still playing?

And here I thought people on this board wanted a Big, Strong, Scoring winger who sticks up for his teammates. That is definitely NOT Todd Bertuzzi?

I wouldn't call it tainted, Marty is a great goalie, but there was a lot of defensive hockey over the past 10 years, and the Devils were the epitome of defensive hockey. But, congrats to Marty if he does it.

Dats, Zata, Homer, Big Bert, Lang & Calder is a fine top six. Another speedy guy like Blake would be nice, but I like that top 6.

Definitely not me. That incident actually made me like Bert a lot more. I don't condone what he did, but I love someone who will stick up for his teammates. So it wasn't me....
