    Wings Updates On Cell Phone

i know we all dog espn, but they do have a decent text service (for free...or costs the normal usage of a text...if its unlimited you're fine). you can get updates for every goal scored during a wings game and an update at then end of each period. An example from yesterday: From:797-10 ESPN NHL - STL Goal 17:36 2nd - STL 4 DET 3 - STL - PAUL KARIYA 2 (T.J. OSHIE)

    Danny Heatley anyone?

Once I saw that you spelled it "Danny" I knew you couldn't be serious

    Why let Hudler go?

    1) the wings have been using hudler as a lw just about the whole season. he took maybe 2 shifts as a center. 2) if he receives a contract offer that averages over i believe 2.6ish million we receive very nice compensation.

    Statistics For Optimism

The last four times the Detroit Red Wings have found themselves down in a series 2 games to 1 they have won game 4 (obviously on the road.) Year Round Opponent Game 4 Result 2007 - Round 2 - San Jose - W 3-2 2006 - Round 1 - Edmonton - W 4-2 2004 - Round 2 - Calgary - W 4-2 2002 - Round 1 - Vancouver - W 4-2 I know this doesnt focus on the entire series...however optimism for a game 4 win is a must, and seeing the Wings tie up the series the past 4 times is very encouraging. Lets.Go.Wings.

Babcock Begins To Reveal Playoff Lines

http://www.freep.com/article/20090306/SPOR...opecky+charging "Draper has five points and is plus-3 in his past five games. Babcock said he plans to use Draper to center the third line, with Dan Cleary as one winger, in the playoffs." So.... ________-_________-__________ ________-_________-__________ ________-Draper-Cleary ________-_________-__________ Have at the rest LGWers NOTE: i know there are other topics on the playoff lineups...but this is from Babcock himself, i figured it deserved its own spot. Move if i am wrong.

    Octopi Flinging @ The Joe

My brother and I are attending quite a few Red Wings games the remander of the season, and he wants to take an Octopus to the San Jose game and throw it on the ice with less than 5 minutes left. He works at a meat market and can get one for cheap He was wondering however what the ramifications were for those of you that have thrown one before at the Joe? Obviously if he gets thrown out with less than 5 minutes left he isn't concerned...but has anyone ever been given a ticket or banned or anything like that? Please share your stories you Octopi flingers so he knows what to do. Thanks!

    Octopi Flinging @ The Joe

i understand the playoff tradition trust me. we don't get to go to many games but we were able to get the 9 dollar tickets to this game (we are both in college so we're not made of money and going to any playoff games) he just has the opportunity to get one cheap from his work...and figured he'd run down the stairs with under 5 to go during a stoppage and play and give it a hurl. hes not concerned about getting thrown out...no big deal...but he doesnt want to get a ticket or be put in the Det jail for a night

    Zetterberg's Contract

Nogood... the Wings don't have to lose Zetterberg to keep the depth on the team...thats just a poor assumption. They can't keep AS MUCH depth...that I will agree with... I think this is a fair guess at next year with out over or under guessing contracts Zetterberg 7,100,000 Datsyuk 6,700,000 Franzen 4,000,000 Filppula 3,000,000 Cleary 2,800,000 Hudler 2,500,000 Holmstrom 2,250,000 Draper 1,583,333 Leino 1,000,000 Maltby 883,333 Helm 599,444 Meech 433,333 Lidstrom 7,450,000 Rafalski 6,000,000 Stuart 3,750,000 Kronwall 3,000,000 Lilja 1,250,000 Ericsson 900,000 Lebda 650,000 Osgood 1,416,667 Howard 717,000 That brings a total of 57,983,110 which yes is more than the current 56,700,000 by 1,283,110...but that could be a good thing since i tried to overestimate and not take any HUGE hometown discounts. That is 12F 7D and 2G...obviously not as deep as you would want. Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Cleary-Zetterberg-Hudler Leino-Filppula-Helm Maltby-Draper-Meech Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Osgood Howard

    The Young Wings Thread

i could see filppula eventually turning into a 20 goal 40 assist a year kinda guy who plays on the PK and PP units i see hudler eventually turning into a 30 goal 25 assist a year kinda guy who plays on the PP kopecky may be a 10 goal 10 assist guy who plays on the PK grigs i am up in arms about... probably a 20 goal 25 assist guy down the road thats my take. not etched in stone. and probably not right. just guessing.
