My team, VCU, is up to #27 in the polls and has the nation's best conference record at 10-0. I'm trying to find out, but I don't think they've ever broken the Top 25 before.
-
And then I read the full post...

Tom Brady. I can't wait for Manning vs. Brady!
-
I wish we got this OSU team on November 18th. Sheesh.
-
Get the Fox Soccer Channel and watch real soccer leagues. That'll help get you more interested. And WTF to those German fans. That's so evil!

Shawn Crable is returning next year. Come on Branch, don't be the only one who leaves.

Go Chelsea. I'm wearing my Drogba jersey right now. I was disappointed with the Reading tie today. West Ham's shocker gave them a chance to really crowd Man U's rear view mirror and they let it slip further away.

While not from my high school, Brandon Minor played high school football less than 15 minutes away from my apartment in Richmond. I'm excited about watching him play after Hart leaves (which I hope isn't this year).

Detroit Lions, NFL 2006 Season Thread
Happy Pancake replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Other Sports
At least the Lions suck without a Hall of Famer at the helm. I am at a complete loss for the Redskins this year. So much inconsistency within that whole organization. -
After coming so close to the national title, I don't really care if we got the Rose Bowl or the Motor City Bowl. Any bowl short of the big one is a huge disappointment this year.
-
Thing that kinda bothers me is if Michigan had won, Ohio State would almost certainly have gotten a chance for a rematch.
-
Perhaps he thought Michigan was #2 but he didn't want to vote them at #2 and help facilitate a rematch?
-
His involvement is in question...as in he's going to be punished? Or that he won't vote in other polls?
-
Now I may change my mind after I sleep on this but I think for the first time ever I am going to be rooting for Ohio State in a game when it doesn't benefit Michigan. And here's hoping for a Michigan-Florida bowl game next year, I don't care if it's the Alamo Bowl or the BCS Title Game, I have a serious bone to pick with the Gators. You bring up valid points but I think a playoff is necessary to avoid these stupid comparisons between teams that don't play each other. Human bias is a very poor method of picking who gets the one and only shot at a national title.
-
They said Ohio State is also the first to beat two #2s in one season on the BCS selection show. I find that hard to believe, is that true?
-
Florida #2 in the USA Today poll. Not looking good for Michigan. I guess I don't mind the Rose Bowl but why toy with us by having USC lose?
-
I remember posting at the beginning of the year that I didn't think Michigan could beat OSU this year. Well so far, I was right but the feeling I had when I posted that was that a 9-2 (at best) Michigan team would come into Columbus this year. Now the stage is almost set for the 2nd meeting in a row between the two runaway best teams this year. THAT exceeded all my expectations for this year.
-
Same field but playing in a neutral stadium is a lot better than the Shoe.
-
I doubt there will be any crying Buckeye fans over the rematch after the USC loss and especially if Florida ends up losing. I could kind of see how they didn't want to beat us and then just straight have to play us again if USC had won out but if Florida loses too there's no debate that Michigan is the most worthy team to go against OSU.
-
UCLA can be best man at my wedding.
-
I see OSU beating the pants off USC (*groan*) so if Michigan wins the Rose Bowl, I don't see them having any problem sliding back into #2. Not that #2 even matters at that point.
-
A lot of good they did us this year too. I hope you can manage winning the title without them.
-
As nice as it would be, I don't think Michigan deserves a rematch. Three turnovers and they still lost. Unfortunately, that's it. Let's win the Rose Bowl at least. Most disappointing Rose Bowl appearance ever.

All MSU/Bo talk aside it's NOVEMBER 18! Let's get it on!

Pulled from the previously quoted Spartan thread: Did they catch his [bo's] death on film? Not sure if I'd rather see that, or the Steve Irwin stingray incident... I can honestly say I grew up liking MSU, just not as much as Michigan since everyone but my mom on her side of the family went to MSU or was affiliated with it in some other way but enough Spartan fans have shown their true colors today. I know there aren't any Spartans on this board like that but I have lost all of my respect for the green and white. There were too many completely rotten apples and it has soured me to MSU.
