What exactly was Lebda doing on that tying goal? I often say guys were just "standing around," but Lebda was literally just standing there. Watching everything.
-
Ohhhhh boy.
-
-
I love you.

Brad Stuart is pretty much the definition of consistency, so an injury to him would not be a good thing. In other news, Samuelsson is ******* awful.
-
Jesus, I was just trying to be positive.

I actually thought Brett Lebda was really good in the first three games. Tonight? Not so much. But I'm willing to give him some credit.

This is the fourth game of the season. There are eighty-two. We are 2-1 and the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Things are going to be okay. Every time I watch Kopecky play, I'm puzzled as to exactly kind of player he is, or more specifically, wants to be. I have yet to be incredibly impressed with him, and I can't help but think a guy like Helm or Leino would be a better fit. I realize some people think he adds size and grit, and I suppose he does, but at this point I think he's more taking up space than intimidating the opposing team. Just my two cents.

Settle down. I really think Hossa needs a goal to calm himself and he'll be fine. Since a rough start, Osgood has been great. Another big save.
-
Helm>Samuelsson.
-
I'm pretty sure 90% of Dan Cleary's goals have been on breakaways.
-
Kronwall has been...bad. All four games.
-
God, Kirk Maltby. Let's just make the most generic move possible.

Hossa impressed me a lot on Opening Night. Since then, however, he's just trying too damn hard. Well, I should say that he's trying too hard to make something out of nothing. He doesn't seem to be concerning himself with passing or hitting anybody.

I thought Ken and Mickey corrected themselves and said the time HAD been replaced.
-
Yeah, I agree with this. And it hasn't been just tonight. He's had lapses like this in all three starts. I'm not worried or anything, but it's a bit puzzling.

That first period left a lot to be desired. Having one of our top offensive guys out, and thus juggling up all the lines, is tough this early in the season when everybody is starting to get used to their linemates. But that's neither here nor there. I'm looking for guys like Filppula and Hudler to step it up. Hossa is starting become a bit problematic, in my opinion. I'm not sure the chemistry is there with Datsyuk, and the two seem to be playing around each other more than with each other. Anyway, some weird bounces tonight to be sure. Also, I still don't quite understand why Rafalski's penalty was called after the time was put back on the clock. It just doesn't make any sense. How do you record that on the scorecard? What time do you put down? Because, technically the penalty never happened. Blah. Wings need to step it up.

This is such a mind-boggling decision.

Not the strongest performance of all time, but I'll take points in whatever fashion this early in the season. It's clear things are totally clicking, but I still thought the Wings played very well tonight, especially defensively. Conklin was superb after a little bit of a shaky start. If he can play that way all season, he'll be quite a pleasant surprise. Two wins on the road is great, and we're headed home for a couple. Good stuff.

Those third-jerseys are embarrassing. I like the color scheme in general, but that logo is horrendous.
-
Uh, no. A fairly well-played period from both teams. Conklin and Ward both looked shaky to start, but settled in and made some nice saves. I'm still not sold on the Franzen-Zetterberg-Hudler line, but I'm willing to be patient. Nick Lidstrom was incredible in that period. He demonstrated in every way why he's one of best of all-time. Just really great stuff.

This is really shady on the part of the Wings. I was under the impression that a number, if not all, the Wings would be in attendance. Not only that, there is supposed to be a tour and there isn't any mention of that. I've already made plans to go with friends, and now I'm questioning if it's even worth it.

You can get a Blackhawks season ticket for $660!?!?!?!
-
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this.

The new schedule is certainly a step in the right direction. I don't understand, however, why Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Atlanta were picked as the three (?!) teams for us to play in a home-and-home. Pittsburgh? Awesome. Buffalo? Alright. Atlanta? No.
