Yeah, I really do sort of question what Babcock is thinking. Taking nothing away from Osgood, but Dominik Hasek should be starting every single game we play against Nashville. They put MacDonald in net last time, and now they go with the other back-up. It makes absolutely no sense. None.
-
Well, the Free Press says that Hasek starts tonight.
-
A win tonight will tie the club record for most home wins in a row, fourteen, which was set back in 1965. Good stuff. Anyway, the Oilers still make me a little nervous. At this point, though, it will take a heck of an effort from them down the stretch to make the playoffs. I also question the decision to start Hasek tonight, rather than on Saturday against Nashville. It just seems to me that you should be starting your top goalie, one of the best in the league, in such a big game. Just my two cents.

I don't really have the time to make a long post. But, in short, Todd Bertuzzi is exactly what the Detroit Red Wings need. Exactly. In my eyes, Hudler is an incredibly small price to pay. He's never really going to mature into the scoring phenom that many people intially thought. Bringing in Bertuzzi, even if it's only for the remainder of the season and playoffs, makes sense. And if the above rumor is true about a soft deal, it makes the decision even easier. This would be a huge step in the right direction.

They won't make it past the first round.

Final Stats: Zetterberg - 3 goals, 1 assist Datsyuk - 4 assists Schneider - 2 assists Williams - 1 goal Lidstrom - 1 assist Hasek - 20 saves on 21 shots Nice win for the Wings. Ahem, your Western Conference-leading Wings.
-
Assists on Zetterberg's third goal go to Datsyuk and Lidstrom. Tonight: Zetterberg - 3 goals Datsyuk - 3 assists Schneider - 2 assists Lidstrom - 1 assist

I will say that at that open practice the Wings held last week, Lilja had his two daughters out on the ice at the beginning, and he was really great with them. Um, not sure why I feel the need to prove that he is a good person.
-
Yuck.
-
Schneider and Datsyuk get the assists on Zetterberg's second goal, as well. Zetterberg: 2 goals Schneider: 2 assists Datsyuk: 2 assists

Scratch that. 3-1 Wild.
-
Under five to go, Wild still up 2-1.
-
AND a Power Play...
-
GA-BORIK. GA-BORIK.
-
Under 10 minutes to play, Minnesota and Nashville still tied at 1.

In my mind, Jason Williams is #28. So, you see what I'm saying? It's all about perspective, people.
-
It's the same thing.
-
Poor #28. He's such a strange guy to figure out. It's hard to imagine him in a Red Wings uniform for very much longer.
-
Kal and Woods were talking about how nobody was really expecting him to play tonight, but I guess he felt good enough to go. Edit: This is in reference to Jovanovski.
-
Wild and Preds tied at 1 after two periods.
-
I'm still trying to figure out if I like Jeremy Roenick or not.

Power Play
-
The Phoenix crowd was very sparse last time the Wings played there, but it eventually filled up a bit. It's not like we really have any room to talk.
-
Ken Kal mentioned that lots and lots of Wings fans are at the game tonight.
-
I know this really isn't the place to discuss it, but what are the chances that the Wings go outside of the Guerin/Tkachuk/Bertuzzi/Roberts foursome to nab their forwards?
