The thing is, it should of been called a goal to begin with. Then they could of did some type of review if they wanted to. Maybe in the beginning or the middle of the game can the refs get away with a call like that, but not in a game with the team down by one with about a minute left. Like Mickey says, let them play the game.

I'm not saying Homer ran into Giggy like Bert did to Hasek last game, but I'm not gonna pretend he wasn't in the crease (WHICH HE WAS, just the very top), and didn't make contact with Giguere at all.
-
Thats what really weirded me out. Unless the ref was watching Homer the ENTIRE PLAY to see if he was in the crease, you're not gonna see him interfering with Giggy with a slapshot from the point.

Homer was in the crease, and like it or not, it was Giggy's area of play. If Giggy had butterflied a foot more towards the shot, then it would of been fine, but he was interfered with IN THE CREASE. Giggy outplayed Ozzy. Good game from both teams and the rivalry still hot.

Hasek intended to get the puck first. It's just that Gaborik wasn't paying any attention and got flipped for it. He's done it more times than I can count on both hands and feet in his career, just never against someone who must of had his eyes closed named Marion. See, the player realized where Dom was and got out of the way just in time. Another example, just a really awkward version of it. _________________________________________________________________ As for the celebration, good stuff.

I was moreso referring to being swept by the Ducks and so on, not 16 years ago. Hell, wasn't a tag line for a post season here "One round is not enough"?

To be fair, he wasn't as much of a creep as say Claude or Patty Roy.

I love how everyone is giggling about how Floppa "won't be getting a Cup" because he's not with Detroit, when we've been a laughing stock for the past years in the playoffs.

"ESPN2?"

Good stuff on Manny calling out Bettman for picking on goalies.

Having goalies for the shootout challenged kinda ruined it. Nabokov pulling out pokechecks didn't help the players' creativity. I'd laugh if Hasek was there and he did his death lunge, completely killing Ovechkin's little Tiger Woods shot. It'd be like having Shaq between the basket and you being asking to pull of something nice. A shooter tutor would of worked better. Also, get some of the guys who actually have moves worth showing off like Kane, Gagner, Schremp, etc out there. That'd get you on ESPN.

Not recently. If you're looking for criticism against Ozzy, this probably isn't the forum to find it. Hasek on the other hand. hez old and flopz.

Good for him. I knew after the Spengler Cup, alot of NHL teams would be looking into him again. He spent months updating his style and working out, ala Osgood. It would also be good to see him being able to retire on his terms, and not having a career like his end because no one wanted him.

If we wanted to go that route, I hear Emery is going to be looking for something to do soon.

Letting the players to show some of the things they can do that never get seen in normal games is lame? God forbid they have some fun at a event thats supposed to showcase the best players of the year (or atleast the most popular) and their skills. ESPN would finally have something to show on Sportscenter to the non-hockey fans. Tell me someone watching Sportscenter wouldn't be amazed by a sick Datyukian deke or (Even though he isn't in it) Robbie Schremp's lacrosse esq shots. Finally the players have a reason to get fancy in the shoot-out competition. Not to mention the "Hextall" competition, which as a goalie, I've love to do.
