  1. I'm not one to go to another teams message board and post there comments here....but this got me here. Apparently some Pen fans honestly believe that player over 37 "fit the profile" Draper, Chelios, Holmstrom, Drake, - fit the profile.

From what i've read Chelios is a freak with the off-season training schedule. Just curious what everyone thinks.

EDIT: The accusations start at post #22

  2. I would personally love to see Brad Winchester (Edmonton) on the team. I got to see a lot of him when he played for Madison, the kid has a lot of heart and would be really cheap. I could honestly see him score 15-20 goals a season plus he can play a grindinding/gritty game (6'5" 215lbs)

  3. I'd like to mention the Darian Hatcher elbow to the head on Matthew Lombardi in 2004 that concussed him for 1.5 seasons. Hatcher only got a 2 game suspension for that.

The suspensions given out this year were done so based on Collin Campbell's pre-playoff meeting about discipline this year and so the Flames were made the example which is how it should be. I feel bad for the coach though (although Playfair is not very popular amongst Flames fans anyway) since the 25K is a big chunk of change for a coach who makes a mere fraction of what the players under him make.

I could be wrong, but doesn't alot of the time the team pay those fines? Maybe they won't in the case that they have there own to worry about.

    edit:Spelling

  4. If it happened, it wouldn't surprise me based on Hasek's past with the fight in the friendly pickup game and his swing at Iginla.

Go back to the hole. Hasek's incident is three years old, it's done and over with as will this whole incident in three years if not less. Besides do you know the whole story behind the in-line incident or is it jst desperate digging for dirt? He never swung his stick at Iginla he stopped(show me a video of him "swinging" his stick). Take a page out of Burnimator's(sp?) book and not be such a troll. All you have done is blamed the Wings and it is there fault it happened, atleast Burnimator is objective and can fault some of the actions of the Flames.

  5. First off, I have been punched by someone wearing a glove, it doesn't "cushion the blow" as much as you might think. Example being if I hit you with a baseball bat it is going to hurt, if I wrap the bat in a pillow and hit you it is still going to hurt pretty bad, not as much w/out the pillow but either way I would prefer not to be hit. So yeah gloves on or off it can still result in a concussion.

Secondly, I will never defend Bertuzzi's actions against Steve Moore and still to this day don't hold a lot of respect for him. That said it was a very dirty play, but calling him "The biggest cheap-shot artist" is a bit off. How many dirt suspendable plays can you think of that he has commited other than the whole Moore incident?

Langkow should be suspended, IMHO it was worse than the Tootoo hit on Robidas and just as bad as May on Johnsson this playoffs.

  6. Good to see some faithful in Calgary not completely be homers.

To the Flames fans in here, I'll say it over and over again...I love how your team plays aggressive, I like how they are physical, I love the atmosphere in your home building at the Saddledome, but you cannot justify most/all of the Flames actions in the 3rd period yesterday.

    You can't.

And I think Iginla's post-game comments disturb me more than the McClennan baseball swing slash on Franzen. Not a good choice of words IMO.

I have read so many post game comments in the last 12 hours, could you tell me which comments you are refering too please?

The other thing that sickens me is that there are a bunch of Flame fans happy and find it justified what McLennan did, just plain classless.

edit: Is it the just trying to bring/keep momentum going into game 6 comment that Iginla made?

  8. I've kind of thought he looks a lot like Hank did when he first came on board a couple of years ago. Wouldn't that be spiffy!?

I was just talking to a buddy of mine last night and said the same thing. I think he plays a lot like Hank, the way he can be hard to knock off the puck and what not. Now that he is getting more and more confidence he gets more fun to watch.
