I saw him play in the NCAA Hockey East final when he was at the absolute top of his game and I can't imagine him not being a huge goaltender in the NHL one day.

I disagree. Rafalski is effective on the powerplay because he's not afraid to put the puck on net, even if he doesn't have time to set up a good shot. It creates a lot of chances for the forwards down low. It worked for Gionta, and it'll work for Holmstrom.

Awesome. I saw this the other day and thought about posting it, but thought I'd get bashed on here for glorifying Lang. Hope he kicks ass in Chicago (just not too much ass).

I haven't seen the Islanders picture, but the Stars one was a mockup and didn't look any more believable than any other mockup that's been floating around. I personally think numbers on the front is a dumb idea, and I hope it won't turn into a widespread thing. Thankfully the Caps, Jackets, and Preds aren't doing it, so it's definitely not a league design requirement or anything like that.

Who else is putting the number on the front? The only jersey I've seen with that is Buffalo, and who knows, they could take it off when they switch to the Reeboks.

So far I've liked all the new jerseys I've seen. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, traditionalists.

I think "Premier" is the new "Replica." Look at the product description. Screen-printed lettering? I don't think this is the same as the authentic jerseys will be.

That Wings mockup is so fake it's out of control. Look at the size of the logo. It's huge, not to mention the fact that it's clearly just pasted on there.

The -28 despite scoring 64 points is probably a big turnoff to a lot of teams. The teams that do want him though want him badly, and are probably in a bidding war for his services right now. It'll be interesting to see what he signs for.

Funny, but Lamoriello isn't Lacroix. The Devils may have lost some big players, but they're still in good hands.

He's a good player for that team. Solid in both ends. I would have liked to see him return to the Caps, but I didn't want him here. He's not the type of guy we need.

I would have liked to have Bertuzzi back, but not for $4M a year. If we're spending that much on forwards, I'd rather see it go to Guerin or Kozlov and Fedotenko. Really any natural goal scorers would do. Add one or two wingers who can bury the puck and we'll be pretty solid.

Close to being a playoff contender, sure. But Stanley Cup contender? You've got to be kidding me. Hasek isn't going anywhere. The contract will get banged out once Holland figures out how he's filling the lineup holes.

It would be foolish for New York to let Nylander walk given his chemistry with Jagr. I wonder if they have room for Nylander and Shanahan now that they have Gomez.

What is it that makes our good players leave for Anaheim? Oh well. I liked Schneider too much while he was here, and he left on reasonably good terms, so I can't really be mad. It sucks to see him go to the Ducks, but I'm thankful for what he did while he was here. Most of all, I trust that Holland will ice us another strong team this year. He's got a lot of freedom right now. It will be fun to watch him work.

We have the anti-Leafs Syndrome. Instead of starting rumors about every player coming to our team, we shoot them down and then act all depressed that we'll never experience 2002 over again.

Alex Ovechkin Award - most style-conscious player. Kari Lehtonen Award - I don't know, but this deserves something for sure.
