Mason sucks. Who lets 2 goals in in one game? What a loser.
-
Datsyuk! Now score another and bump up Mason's GAA!
-
I wanna see 3-5 goals on Mason this period. He needs to be taken down a notch. All good this come to an end, Steve.
-
To answer your questions, yes, Mason gets the shutout. The shutout is Mason's. Mason has a shutout. Who has a shutout? Mason. Mason shuts out Detroit. If theres a shutout, its Mason's. Mason is a shutter outer. Mason shuts out teams. Shutout=Mason. Mason=Shutout.

Hossa looked like Sammy there on that shot.
-
Wow Pittsburgh is actually ahead in a game! Of course its against Atlanta so I'm not sure if that really counts..
-
Yet Conklin has stopped maybe 4 or 5 real tricky chances, and Mason has seen, what, one? I'll give credit to the Jackets defense before I give credit to Mason. Mason has had a TON of help tonight. Seeing all his shots, and most of them aren't even getting through. On top of that guys like Marc freking Methot and Derek Dorsett are controlling our offense like vets.

Leave it to Homer to drive the net. Good stuff.
-
Nash is out? Damn. Who the hell does Columbus have left up front? Peca, Boll, Umberger, and Modin? Thats a joke.
-
Not with the way we are shooting. Mason is seeing everything and when he doesnt see it, were putting it straight into his huge chest. The guys a monster at 6'4. You're gonna have to be creative or crash the net to get it past them. And we're gonna have to get a lead if we want Columbus to actually play offensive hockey.

God my feed sucks so bet. And its not even online. f*** Comcast or FSN...whoever it is.
-
Does anyone elses FSN feed keep dropping out?
-
Its a good thing Columbus has a terrible PP, because looking at that replay of the PK, they missed a lot of easy chances.
-
Wings look bored and sloppy tonight. No motivation against any injury-riddled no-namer.
-
If this is the kind of play that Mason has faced lately, its no surprise that his numbers are so good. Columbus is playing so tight defensively that Mason hasn't faced any tough shots yet. Quite a boring game so far. I have a lot of work to do. I really hope I don't regret spending 2.5 hours watching this.

Do they have to mention that playing 4 on 4 "should be an advantage for the Red Wings..but isn't" every single time its 4 on 4?
-
It seems like our 4th line always gets it taken to them in our own zone.
-
I was wondering if anyone would catch that.

I'm not backing up the idea of supporting Canadians over anyone else, but I can understand where it comes from. Folks like to be able to identify with players of their same nationality. That said, I can't stand the amount of press that Crosby gets when NO ONE else is being promoted. I mean, even the fricking NBA promoted Ming and Ginobili and its looking like Malkin and Ovechkin are a half step above Crosby in a variety of ways.

Steve Mason gets brought back down to earth tonight. I don't care what the score is, I just want to see Hank get back on track with a goal or eight.
-
The Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils would probably have a lot more points too if they weren't in a division with the Rags and Flyers. You can talk all you want about who is playing above .500 hockey, but teams like the Nucks and Flames wouldn't have nearly the amount of points they do if they were facing off against 3 other strong teams. Same goes for the Wings and Sharks. The fact that that the Atlantic division has 4 good teams and the Southeast really only has 1 makes the East top to bottom look weaker, when in fact its VERY good this year. If not better than recent years.
-
Yup. The only exception being the playoffs - which says a lot, but even then Crosby had the better linemates.
-
You picked the coldest hes been all season to post about him? Only has 2 points his past 6 games whereas he was putting up 3-4 point nightly for a while there. Good player, but he benefits from a s***load of ice time. What does he get? 6 minutes of PP time? Thats double any forward on this roster gets.

Ken Holland's "Deadline Special" Predictions
YoungGuns1340 replied to YoungGuns1340's topic in General
Nope. Meech costs less than 500k whereas Lebda costs 650k. That 150k at the deadline makes a huge difference. And the most important aspect about Meech, as Eva mentioned, is his versatility. We are gonna be smack up against the cap next year, and it will be a huge advantage to carry only one extra player who can serve as both the 7th Dman AND the 13th forward. -
Pretty much. Its kind of funny how some folks get the memos late, like the one a month or two ago when someone slammed the board for bitching about Sammy. Kind of funny. At any rate, what people need to understand about this board is that the fans here are very smart and very analytic. When a player is doing poorly, he'll get flack for it. When a player plays well, hes praised. I'm sure Babcock does the same thing with the guys. And for the record, yeah Raffi was crap for about the first 20-25 games or so, but in the last 10-15, hes really picked up his game defensively, which is what most people around here care about when it comes to defensemen.
