11/14 GDT: Red Wings 3, Florida Panthers 2

As if College football isn't shoved down our throats enough. -
I agree. He reminded me a lot of Babcock. Not quite sure why they got rid of him and then thought Melrose would be an upgrade.

I miss Vlady and Fischer. Could you imagine a top 5 of Lidstrom, Konstantinov, Kronwall, Fischer, and Stuart?
-
I'd put my money on Zetterberg simply because Hossa has to contend with a much more talented group on the PP. Lidstrom is gonna score more PP goals than Kronwall, Raffi is gonna score more PP goals than Sammy, and Datsyuk is going to score more PP goals than Hudler while Hossa has the better net-front presence to contend with that can steal a goal from his column by an inch or two. Zetterbergs only real threat to stealing his Gs is Franzen, and with the way Hudler and Hank have been connecting on the PP, Zetterberg is still in the better position. And I say this because I think its Hank being the big dog on the 2nd line that has made all the difference. Hes on pace for 25 PP goals (which would also be a Red Wing record if Im not mistaken). Ultimately, however, it comes down to injuries, injuries, injuries with Hank.

If he hits 50 goals, no way it comes any earlier than March. He should be signed by then. And who knows. If a 50 goal scorer whos just come off a Conn Smythe winning year can sign for say, 7.5M, then it might have a POSITIVE effect on the market.
-
Wow Im surprised Stuart didnt get called for that. After all, there was no penalty there. Datsyuk is being WAY too cute today.
-
Agreed. This season in general hes been more effective than in years past.
-
does a second constitute, say, a month and a half?
-
Legit call. I just don't understand how you can call what Homer did and what Stuart did the same thing.
-
For a small guy, Jiri Hudler does a pretty decent job of moving the puck when pinned along the boards.
-
Wow. You wanna talk about a "lucky" goal. No one saw that coming..
-
hmm sorry for jumping the gun, then.
-
Because whether or not I'm optimistic or negative DOES have control on the outcome of the game? If I enjoy a critical viewing of the game, then thats my preference. And you can have yours.
-
So we can sit around holding virtual hands singing kumbaya? How boring...
-
About as much as the criticism is...
-
The same can be said for those who are overly optimistic. Fact is, everyone needs to just shut up and stop playing police. We all need to let each other post as much negative or positive things as we want. And if you don't want that then forums like these aren't for you.
-
Apparently you haven't been around the boards enough lately...Any criticism is met with sanctimonious reprimands of no loyalty and bandwagonism - neither of which have anything to do with criticism.
-
So is reading comprehension apparently. No one is jumping ship. If you are upset by the way a team is playing, it shows how much you care. If I didnt have loyalty, the Wings crappy play would keep me from watching. Sorry criticism is outlawed on this board.
-
Rafalski needs to wake the f*** up. The Wings are doing anything with their offensive chances and have played crap defense again and he basically says "we're playing well. theres nothing we can do?" Thats ridiculous. Have some freaking accountability.
-
Are you really that much of a homer? Or just an outright optimist? You need to open up your eyes or actually watch the games. Our record is the only pretty thing about this season. And when you look at the EASY schedule we've had so far, it doesn't mean much.
-
The worst Home powerplay is killing us. And Osgood should've had that.
-
Yes, we are such a great team. Somebody please bring up our record to support otherwise.
-
Actually I'm referring to the fact that against NYR, Anaheim, Pittsburgh, and San Jose, we have only one win - an OT win that we nearly lost by blowing a lead in the third period.
-
I hate it when they don't show a replay of the penalty.
-
and a lack of energy. You should never be that stationary at the blueline.
