I was thinking that too, but im not sure. But Doc definitely does leave a lot to the imagination with some of the things he says. -

Pretty much. And everyone has ran with it. Case in point: When Dupuis' stick was broken on the "slash", he HIMSELF said it was a slash on Hossa TO THE MEDIA. We all say the footage. He had the stick in his hands. He knows Hossa didn't slash him, but what does he say? "It should have been a penalty. He (Hossa) broke my stick." -

A good 20 seconds. That was the longest "too many men" in the history of the game. -

Do you think Draper will retire after this season?
YoungGuns1340 replied to Wingsfan72's topic in General
Pull your head out of the sand, folks. We're talking about between hundreds of thousands of dollars and millions that Maltby and Draper would be walking away from in their mid 30s. Going by the average death rate, thats 40 years of their life where they aren't going to making even hundreds of thousands of dollars close to what they're making now. Maltby will stay, even if hes the 13th forward, as will Draper. There is absolutely no incentive for them to quit the game they love when they've been Red Wings for life, don't want to go anywhere else, and have a guaranteed salary. Even if Maltby and Draper stay within the Wings organization, the paycheck that a scout, assistant coach, or head coach gets is a pittance compared to what they're earning now. If I'm remembering the numbers correctly Draper's salary per year is more than Babcocks. Theres no way Maltby and Draper walk away from a salary that could equate to what they earn in 5-10 years alone at most other jobs for which they'd be qualified. -
Mark Messier Leadership Award finalists named
YoungGuns1340 replied to P. Marlowe's topic in General
Call me crazy, but I think Jason Arnott should be nominated over any one of those guys. Now theres one captain that gets little credit, despite the fact that he has essentially no help up front, and is consistently among his teams hardest working players, if not hardest. -
That sucks. Hopefully hes just sick, and will be back for Game 4. We all know that Sammy has his faults, but hes also exactly the type of guy that would be likely to sneak in under the radar of the Pens D and score a big goal.

PS 2009 Stanley Cup Final Photoshop War: Pittsburgh Penguins
YoungGuns1340 replied to Matt's topic in Hall of Fame
Ugliest. Player. In the NHL. Even Mike Ricci sees Tyler Kennedy on the ice and has to shield his eyes.. The NHL should make Tyler Kennedy wear a tinted visor, just because hes so ugly.- 740 replies

Henrik Zetterberg got so used to his opponents crying uncontrollably after he deked them out of their jock-strap that, being the sympathetic man that he is, he was forced to carry a handkerchief with him at all times to sop up the tears they left on the ice. And for that reason, he is now frequently referred to affectionately as "Hank."

I was thinking the same thing. Dman: Bouwmeester Forward: Getzlaf (honestly, I have no justification for picking him over AO, but maybe its the fact that we know he can thrive in a tight Western Conference atmosphere) Goalie: Lundqvist

Maltby has been great since Game 5 against Chicago.

San Jose outshot and outchanced Anaheim, and carried a lot of the play. They lost. Detroit outshot and outchanced Edmonton, and carried the majority of the play. They lost. If you ask me, this is sweet, sweet retribution for all those games and playoff series where WE lost, despite carrying the play and outchancing/outshooting the opponent. The universe is simply repaying us.
