The Wings look a little tired.
-
Ouch, Ozzie. 1 goal on 3 shots?
-
Thats disappointing. A goal on the result of a dive.
-
Wow. You wanna crack down on diving and you don't call THAT? I hope they use a clip of that play when they teach referees what a dive looks like. That was textbook imbellishment. Should be 4 on 4 right now.

Quincey was terrible in the pre-season and useless ever since he play in the 07 playoffs. He had PLENTY of chances to show the coaching staff what he could do and he couldn't. At the end of the day, its not about who is better than who in an abstract sense, its about who fits better with the Wings, their system, their style of play, etc. Quincey was clearly not better than Lebda for the Wings if the Wings brass didn't think so. This is a team that gave everybody a chance to earn their spot, and theres no team better at determining whats best for their team than the Wings.

Yup. I wouldn't go as far as to say hes worse in the league, but he really has been the worst performer night in and night out for the Wings. And the fact that he continually jumps into the play on offense when he has yet to contribute much of anything on offense drives me crazy.
-
I dont think its that. I think its more like whats gonna happen if we lose another top sixer on this road trip? If, say, Hank and Franzen are out, itd be best to have Leino available on the road trip just in case our offense takes a hit. If it were a bottom sixer, we might see a different call-up, but Leino makes the most sense on a road trip when our offense is the only thing winning us games right now..

The Wings can't bring anyone up from GR because they'd be over the cap. SO TRADE LEBDA!
-
Eh it depends on how you look at it. Hossa has the defense advantage by far, but Shanahan fought and hit like a truck as well. I think the biggest difference is that Hossa is in the middle of his prime, and a lot of our memories of Shanahan are him leaving his prime.
-
Agreed.
-
Perfect shot from Hossa.
-
Havlat? Edit: Nope, good call.
-
Lame. I hate shootouts.
-
Kronwall wow. That was awesome.
-
Did Daniels just say "s***ty hockey"?
-
This is some epic reffing.

The way we've been winning though - these are the kind of games that signal s*** is about to hit the fan. We are gonna get creamed if we come across a team playing well at both ends of the ice. The only tough competition we've had so far has been the Rags on a back to back night for them and their 6th game in 9 nights. Other than that, we really haven't been tested and we're stills struggling to pull out wins. In my mind, its a bad omen of things to come. Thats why it worries me.

I don't get it. I really don't. This was the same thing against the Thrashers. The refs handed the thrashers a few 5 on 3s on realllllyyy cheap penalties. No way that should be called. That s*** happend 80 times a game. Terrible reason to drastically tilt the ice in Chicago's favor.
-
Wow. Shocker there. So two games in a row now where the refs had handed the teams some s*** penalty...

Fairweather fans? I don't think anyone who was complaining about our play is gonna be 100% happy with this win. Sorry if I have high standards but the fact that we need 5 goals to take a lead and currently have a 3.00 GAA is still not something I can overlook. Sorry if I expect more from these guys. If we win, I'm happy with the win, but Im not happy with the way we went about it. On the bright side, I don't mind these high-scoring games which push our players to the top of the ranks in the league like most "all offense" teams usually see.
-
Lol @ Sammy missing though..
-
I don't care what y'all say. Hudler belongs on the 2nd line.
-
Exactly. The bad news is, we play in the Western Conference. And their are teams we have yet to face who can subdue our offense and expose our defense if we continue on as we are.
-
Its incredible how much we've become like an Eastern Conference team.
-
Our top 2 lines again are saving our bacon.
