Agents simply represent agents. It is true that only players who are free agents are going t be able to switch teams and change contracts, etc, but we will likely simulate more than one season within an actual season, depending on how the game goes. Therefore, players who are NOT free agents now will be free agents sooner than they actually are in real life. If this game gets off the ground, I will release a schedule for the dates of things such as Free agency opening and the season finishing. To determine a players worth, you use a players actual play in the NHL. Therefore, if youre Chicago´s GM and your goaltender is actually playing poorly and is putting up poor numbers as Khabibulin has this year, then you´re going t want to consider trading him. As all players have up and down years, breakout years, game changing injuries, etc, so you must keep up with that. Corey Perry is a free agent who just had a stellar year. As his GM, what are you going to give him? As his agent, what are you going to ask for him? Are you going to have to trade him? If so, how do you get top value for him.

Yes you can have both roles, given that the advisors function as a group.

Its exactly like EHM, without the simulation games. For those wondering, the point of the game is simply to adjust your roster according to actual player performances. For example, if you have Ray Emery on your team, how are you going to move him? What if Marleau starts slouching in the playoffs again? What if Dion Phaneuf goes down with a season ending injury? In theory, you can´t win the game. The point is simply to see if you can do the job of GM or agent. Given how much people like to think they´d be able to put together winning teams and get players to sign better contracts, itd be interesting to see if we´re actually capable of that. As for being an agent of players, yes you can choose any players, as long as they aren´t all superstars (only up to 2 can be big name players a la Heatley, Lidstrom, Vinny, Crosby, etc)

No they dont. At least not if they want to use the term correctly. Franzen is not a power forward. There are a handful of those in the NHL, and Dustin Brown is probably the only one who truly fits the mold. Franzen isnt nearly nasty or physical enough to be a power forward.

That may be what they throw at him, but thats not what hes gonna take. Its a good thing we have some cap space, because hes definitely gonna be looking at Patrick Sharp money now. 27 goals in the regular season. 7 in the playoffs already. 22 goals in his last 24 games. Hes big, fast, gritty, smart, skilled. Hes a new NHL gem. Hes Todd Bertuzzi Lite with a better work ethic. I expect he lands 3.5 at least. Every team in the NHL would throw 4M at him on the open market.

I was actually thinking we'd win this in 4 games even before we started playing Colorado. Just a hunch..

To be honest, I dont think Theodore has the ability to dominate a game against us. If you look at the goalies that hurt us, they're either good goaltenders with a ton of confidence and can handle all kinds of pressure (Giguere, Kipper, etc.) or they're no-name goaltenders who are playing with absolutely no pressure to steal games and aren't expected to win (Ellis, Roloson, etc.). Theo doesnt fall into either of those cases. Hes a goalie of a relatively big market team who is fighting not only for demanding fans, but also for his career reputation. Hes under a ton of pressure and doesn't have the mental game to handle it. And when you combine that with the fact that hes probably not used to facing teams with dynamic offensive games (how many times do the Avs face Vancouver and Minny?), I think we got him down. I think if Colorado is gonna keep us from scoring itll be either through Budaj or through an incredibly tight defensive performance.

Well for the record, Helm IS known for his defensive play. Its one of the reasons he gets hailed as the next Draper...with better hands.

Yeah I love the guy, but this season overall has probably been his worst one I can remember. Not to say its been bad, but it definitely might be time to hang em up. Maybe if we go all the way, hell think about it. Itd be nice to see Meech, Ericsson or Quincey get some good experience up here..

I understand that, but if the Avs lost today, I was expecting them to be taking some positives with them regardless. They're going back to their arena, with their fans, and Floppa and Hannan will probably be back in the lineup. And the Wings shouldnt bother worrying about that as long as they play their game. Its already been proved that the Avs are handcuffed unless the Wings sit back.

Yes, we do need to take advantage of these, but our guys are probably beat to hell. Theyve been flying for two periods and now our top guys are out there for practically the entire last half of the period.

Franzen is a beast but.... ...can we give it up for Niklas Freaking Kronwall??? The man's got EIGHT assists in the playoffs so far and has been setting up crucial goals for the entire duration of the playoffs. Im liking him as our #2 Dmen right now, or at least on par with Rafalski.
