Thats exactly what I was thinking. He hasnt been that much of a presence as it is. If hes worn-down and replacing a guy in the lineup whod likely bring a ton of energy, then Im all for it..

Like I said in an earlier post, I dont buy that the Wings arent trying, I just dont think they are trying hard enough. I think people are getting lost in the fact that we dominated as a team, but IMO, the individual plays are whats killing us. Every single forward on this squad needs to recognize when to shoot the puck and where and, more importantly, to go the net for those rebounds. This hasnt happened nearly as much as it should have happened. Thats the reason why were going into OT despite owning the game for 59 minutes.

I was just gonna pose that question. Does this sort of thing happen to other teams. I mean...are other teams just as predictable. I feel like this is the same story over and over. Outshoot the team by a ridiculous margin, only to give up their small lead in the dying minutes of the game, and go on to lose. Is this not our calling card by now? I hate how I can feel so embarassed to be a fan of the Wings sometimes...

well...I dont think anyone on here thinks THEY can do a better job than the Wings can. But its pretty apparent at this juncture in the series that the 8th seeded Nashville Predators with a young, inexperienced team backed by a former AHL goalie and headed by a coach with an abysmal playoff record can do better than the Wings can. And that itself warrants the criticism the Wings are getting..

Trying is one thing. Trying hard enough is another. You simply cant expect to take a game when youre 1 for 50 on shots. Thats absolutely unacceptable. Believe it or not, the solid hockey that Ellis is playing is not of Patrick Roy porportions..

Im not too surprised. If Nichol were in, I think itd be a different story, but Tootoo isnt going to fight unless theyre down by more than 2 goals in an elimination game. Id expect him to agitate and then turtle when Mac/Downey/Drake go after him, just so we get the instigator.

Well what do you expect him to do when hes put with ice cold players? At this point, I wouldnt mind seeing a Draper, Hudler, Franzen line as our 2nd unit. Sammy, Flip, and Cleary can be our checking line. Have fun boys
