Comrie would be nice. No, hes not huge, but he is fast and gritty. I think hed fit in great with Cleary and Flip. That would be an extremely fast second line...

Hawks make offer for Brad Richards

I heard Dallas is in the lead. Makes sense since Madonna will soon be gone, and they can afford to offer the Dman + goaltender packaged that Tampa Bay wants.

I highly doubt Murray thinks hes the missing piece. That team has been seeking a physical stay at homer and more grit in their lineup since kingdom come. Id dare say Murray thinks a guy like Holik or Gratton is closer to his missing piece than Hossa. Ottawa is in it to drive the price up for Montreal, IMO. Teams do do that...

Rob Blake will waive no trade clause

Haha. Imagine our bottom lines: Maltby - Draper - Lapointe Downey - Drake - McCarty That *might* be enough to get us started..

Rob Blake will waive no trade clause

Why? So Brunnstrom can play on the 4th line and hang with all those Swedes that the Avs have? Toronto, Detroit, or Vancouver will land Brunnstrom

FWIW, Montreal is "in a tight race" with somebody to acquire Hossa, according to thefourthperiod.com. Its possible Detroit could still be in it...

If Prospal got Picard and a 2nd or 3rd (Conditional) That basically sets the bar for Fedorov at Meech and a 3rd..

    Flyers acquire Prospal from Tampa

Oh, come on. Lets not make this about semantics. You have to concede that, cosidering all of TWO teams in the entire league have made a trade, it is just a LITTLE premature to say Holland is disappointing, no?

    Flyers acquire Prospal from Tampa

DETROIT DOES NOT TRADE WITH CAROLINA. You cant get mad at Holland for not making a trade that he can't make. Illitch and Karmanos hate each other, and therefore dont trade with each other. Not to mention, how is it do you think that Holland could make that same trade. Its not like we can just substitute any two random players for Corvo and Eaves and have it make sense for Carolina. General managing 101 people!

    Lightning re-sign Boyle

More like MARKET VALUE FOR A 20 GOAL SCORING DMAN. Seriously, a top pairing Dman isnt gonna be had at anything cheaper than 6M nowadays. Campbell will get the same. Phaneuf already did...

    Flyers acquire Prospal from Tampa

How do you figure they wouldnt had to give up a 2nd? Philly isnt out of the playoffs. Theyll have a 15 and up pick...Thats not much different than what the Wings might end up with. The draft is determined by your playoff performance now, not your final regular season seed.. EDIT: Turns out the pick is conditional, a 2nd at most, probably a 3rd if he doesnt re-sign. Detroit couldve had this deal. Makes me wonder if we've got something bigger in the works..

You know, I was tossing it around in my head that the reason no big trades had been made yet was because GMs were really standing firm on not throwing their futures away for a rental. You know, all those Hudler, Sammy, and a 1st rumors might have some credence now..

He wouldnt be getting top pairing minutes, but when you have 3 soft skilled and offensive Dmen as your top 3, then you have to balance them out somehow. I picture Raffi, Lids, Campbell, and Salei holding down the majority of the regular ice time, Lilja and Cheli seeing a ton on the PK, and then Raffi and Lids being the first PP unit with Salei and Campbell ( ) being the second.

    Khan: Filppula Going Nowhere

Yeah because I said he was worthless and should be traded for a bag of pucks... Did you take it upon yourself to be LGW resident ******* or something? If theres on thing I can't stand, its when people take an argument to ridiculous heights, which is exactly what youre doing: I say hes not a superstar, and yet you act like I said he was a steaming pile... Anyways, the point here is that hes being just a tad bit overrated by folks on this board who are all ready to crown him as the next Henrik Zetterberg. In Hanks second year, he mightve hit 60 points if it werent for the leg injury, and he had all the makings to do that when he went down. My biggest problem with Flip is that I just dont see those natural offensive instincts in him that Hank and Datsyuk have. Knowing where to go to make the offensive play, knowing when to shoot versus when to pass - he just hasnt caught on to this things yet. Sure, he can work on developing his instincts, but I think theres only so much you can make up versus that which is inherent. That being said, I do think Flip has the overall skill to put up 20-25 goals once he develops more fully, but hell never be the 30-40, 80-100 point guy that some people think hes just going to turn into overnight. Hes a defensive forward at heart, with the skills of a second line player. IMO, I expect him to be a 20g, 60pt player over his career. Definitely worth a lot, but when you have the chance to trade him for a bona fide superstar, his potential takes a back seat..
