Thats too much for Vinny at this point. Vinnys great and all, but theres no way you get Higgins AND Price AND Markov. Not at this point. Thats basically trading a possible 1st line forward/current top 6 forward, a future #1 goaltender/current starting goalie, and a top pairing Dman, plus the highest pick you have, for Vinny. I think Tampa would be best to get a Latendresse + Halak + Markov + 1st + 2nd for Lecavalier.

I wouldnt trade Vinny for Datsyuk. Does Datsyuk have more talent than Vinny? No. Vinny is the better player. But Vinny will also probably want 750k per year more than Datsyuk, wouldnt be locked up long term when we got him, and most importantly doubtfully has the chemistry with Zetterberg that Datsyuk does.

Ironically, thats the only team theyve lost to as well. And when you look at the records for most of the teams in the East, its a lot of bad teams leaching points off one another. There are a lot of pretty sad teams in the East right now who, if they were in the West, would be doing a lot worse. IMO, if you took teams like the Flames, the Nucks, the Sharks, the Blues, theyd all be well over .500 in the East.

I bet Hank takes 7M. Interesting that Spezza is a good deal at 7M, yet Datsyuk was an iffy deal at 6.7. Just goes to show you how much stats mean everything to people. Spezza is good, dont get me wrong. Comparable to Datsyuk in offense, IMO, but his defense doesnt touch Datsyuks and he consistently centers Alfie and Heatley. Anyone could produce with those guys as Wingers. Hell, look what Randy Robitaille did last night playing with those two.. That said, I do think 7M is a good deal....But I also think Datsyuks deal is just as good, if not better.

I wouldnt say that Ozzie was a bad player for the Isles and Blues. He had some good seasons with them, he just never had the support he had here. No to mention, hes clearly always had a special bond with Detroit. I think there are certain players who simply always carry an allegiance to a team, regardless of whether they play for them or not. Not to get all emo, but I wouldnt be surprised if it broke Ozzies heart not to play for the Wings.

Hossa??? Lets lay off the crack. You have 5 guys on your team that make between 6-7M. The Wings should be looking at the Dumonts, Ryders, Rolstons, and Legwands of the leaugue...the guys that fall into the 3.5-5M range are the ones we can afford.

Or rather...Williams and Lang were two of the worst forwards when it came to working in their end. Its no surprise that on Chicago, a team that averages 3 goals against a game, a team that since Savard took over placed a heavy emphasis on scoring, theyre doing well. The Red Wings required a dedication to backchecking, not floating or waiting around for the opportunity to rack up the points. Savard is playing to his teams strengths, as any coach should, and hes getting his wins by letting the potent offense do their thing.

Happy to see Jason doing well, but I was even happier to see him go. Same with Lang.

Im apathetic as to whether or not we sign Forsberg, but to say that we shouldnt sign him if the terms are right is a joke. The guy is better on one leg than 80% of the forwards in this league. He doesnt even NEED to be healthy to contribute and in many cases dominant.
