Yeah I really think they need a 30ish y/o goal scorer for the 2nd line. I really think they need someone like that to guide those two young guys. Theyve got the tools, they just need somebody who knows how to bring them all together.

The calls in this game shouldve been much more even. Blake got away with a few.

I think Hudler is there. Filppula is still very much in the defensive mindset, and thats fine as long as he works his way into the offensive mindset gradually. Then all we need is a young veteran goal scorer and this team is a top contender without a doubt.

Kronwall has played 119 NHL games and Id venture a guess that a good 1/3 of those games were wasted by getting back up to game speed post-injury. Thats the equivalent to a Dman in the middle of his sophomore year.

The Hawks always play us hard. To be honest, thats the best performance from any team we've played yet for the 2nd and 3rd periods. They really wanted it. But then again, theres a lot of people that want to do the Wings one over on that squad for various reasons. At any rate, I was extremely pissed to see Sammy playing out there so much. He looked terrible from what I saw. Then again, nobody really looked sharp outside of Draper, I thought. I think it was just an off night in general for the squad. It really looked like we couldnt do anything right tonight. But in all honesty, Im kinda worried about Haseks play, but ill give him some time to get up to game speed. Datsyuk is a slow starter too, so I wont worry about that yet. Lets pause for a second, though, and realize that 3-1-1 is not a bad record at all.
