You can hope all you want, but Emerys been hot, Ottawas D has been sick, and their forwards have been, well. Ottawa right now is playing comparable defense and has comparable goaltending to Detroit. Add in the fact that their offense is about 10x as strong as Detroits and Anaheim had trouble beating Detroit, then Anaheim is going down. Besides, the last thing the NHL needs is the Stanley Cup disappearing to a place where people think icing is what you put on a cake. For the 3rd time in 3 years.

You know, Im not as devastated as I thought Id be. You simply cant get down on guys that played so well and were the better team for the majority of the playoffs against their opponents. Who knows, having Mathieu Schneider on the point couldve added a few PP goals to the series and been the difference breaker, but thems the breaks. They did a great job guys.

I almost wish we would have lost 4-1. To see that we can manhandle the Ducks and it only took us 20 minutes to do so shows we had it all along.

Wrong. With all the speed and skill Ottawa has, Jiggy's lateral movement will be exposed. Did you see how much lateral movement Miller had to do in order to keep the Sabres from getting blown out each night? Agility and flexibility are what it takes to beat that 1st line of the Sens. Giguere doesnt have that.

Im cautiously optimistic that he could just be a late bloomer though. After all the injuries Jiri Fischer had, it took him a good 4 years to get back to his rookie form where he was awesome. Im holding out on that for Kronner.

Sens. Essentially no injuries. Great shutdown Dmen. Unstoppable top line. Hot goaltender. If Giguere can be beatable through 6 games with what the Wings have, the top line of Ottawa will be on it. Not to mention tons of rest for Ottawa and next to zero travel. They are also faster and bigger than the Wings, but the key is offense for the Sens.

Im with you. A few tweaks and this team could be unstoppable. Hell, with a healthy Bert, Hank, Kronner, and Schneider, it probably wouldve been unstoppable!

You have a team that has lost its #2 and #3 defenseman, which puts Detroit at 1 offensive defenseman, and 2 of their top forwards are playing with long-term back injuries? Give me a ******* break. Sometimes heart can only do so much until injuries, travel, and bad breaks take their toll on body and spirit.

No. I agree about Calder and Lang having to go. Not sure about Bertuzzi, because we have yet to see him healthy, and his huge body at %100 could be a big difference maker. Keep in mind the guy is playing with a bad back after not playing for essentially 2 years (suspended during the lockout, then injuries this year). I wouldnt mind seeing him back, but Im not set on it. Either way, a replacement for Lang, and possible a replacement for Schneider and/or Markov. There are a lot of bright spots on this team.

What the f*** is wrong with people here. Detroit was the THIRD BEST TEAM IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR. If Detroit needs to blow up the squad, should the other teams just forfeit their seasons next year? This is what being a fan of hockey is. Its unpredictable and there is no formula for a guaranteed win. Just be happy that our boys showed heart and grit this season. Thats the best foundation to work with.

Blah blah blah. Youre blind if you dont see that Lang sucks ass 90% of the time and is responsible for more goals and chances against us than he creates for us. Plus, hes turtle-like at skating and his relexes suck now. Hes the only player on a roster of older guys that really shows his age. Dump his ass. Better fish in the sea.

You guys have short memories. Weve lost with Hull and Shanahan on the roster before. Weve lost with the best captain in the game. We're losing with the best Dman in the game right now. Sometimes a team doesnt need to be blown up to win a championship. Luck and health are an integral part to winning any championship. Hell, where would Carolina have been if Buffalo hadnt had half of their defenseman injured last year? Who knows. Point is with Flip, Hudler, Datsyuk, Hank, Lids, Lebda, etc, the Wings have a mighty good core they can do a LOT of good with. This experience is great for the team and with a few key changes that wont be all that hard (getting rid of Lang) Detroit will be back here again. Babcock is a great coach and hes the type of guy that can bring out the best in the guys. Im looking forward to next year.

Having more than one offensive defenseman MIGHT have helped Detroit. Just a thought. We miss Schneider.

Yup, Props to the Ducks for bringing their balls tonight. They deserve this game hands down.

They are tonight, but they werent throughout the series. Although this game brings the Wings down a notch. This series was a toss up. Bounces went the Ducks way as did the "adversity" (aka injuries). Not having Schneider really hurt us down the stretch. But good teams overcome things like that so we cant make excuses. At any rate, Wings played a great game throughout the playoffs despite the adversity. Nice to see them get this far. Go Sens! A Euro Captain will win it!!!!!!!!

Most of you on here need to grow up. Stop calling for the coaches head, the players head, and wake up. This team has done great without their #2 and #3 defenseman and with Hank and Bertuzzi not even being close to %100. Props to the Wings.
