It would be awesome to have Pahlsson, simply because we would be cornering the market on two-way forwards. Hank Datyuk Pahlsson Filppula Cleary Draper Helm Nuts.
-
Keeping Huet does nothing to reduce payroll, especially when Khabi just signed for a somewhat reasonable deal.
-
Thats strange, because the Hawks themselves didn't seem to think so by trying to trade Huet before the ink on Hossa's contract was even dry. Huet and Niemi FTW!
-
Yup. Small guys are useless. Just ask St. Louis. Besides, Sullivan plays bigger than Hossa ever did.
-
Damn. About half a mil out of our price range. Great signing for the Caps. Knuble planted in front with Ovechkin firing shots. Good stuff.
-
I love all the people imploding about how Detroit won't be any good this year. They lose the only 2 guys who werent on the cup-winning roster, and the two most complained about forwards on the roster in Kopecky and Sammy. And yet, somehow, we're no longer contenders. Love it.
-
Hes looking for 5M, and some team will be nuts and at least give him 3.5-4. People really need to stop suggesting players that are completely out of our price range.
-
Datsyuk Hank Helm Draper Or Datsyuk/Hank Filppula Helm Draper Franzen is also a natural centerman.
-
Yeah, because Bowman is the GM and has to answer to the Blackhawks onwer. Bowman was on the team when they signed Campbell and Huet. Some great trick he had up his sleeve then.
-
I'd say the only pressure on Holland right now is trying not to publicly laugh in Dale Tallon's face.
-
They signed him for 1.2 million per year! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
-
Is this a joke?
-
Sweet. Now he'll crumble when he plays the Wings, just like he did with Pittsburgh.
-
Oh, and on that, this basically screws the Wings for arbitration. Booth had 60 points, and hes 24. Hudler had 57 points, and hes 25. That sets the market value for Hudler at easily no less than 3.5M. With that said, if the Wings do file for arbitration with Hudler, its doubtful they'll actually get to the arbitration process. If Hudler's price tag is too rich for the Wings blood, they'll trade him. And no, not for a 2nd rounder.
-
That is a TON of money for potential. And I like Booth. I guess Florida was just sick of seeing all their young talent scamper away.
-
Have you see the compensation? Unless a team offers over 3.1M for Hudler, the Wings get a lousy 2nd rounder for him. If the Wings are on Sullivan's radar, then the Wings should take Hudler to arbitration (which protects him from offer sheets) and then shop his rights in the process.
-
He'll get at least 4, but I cant see him making the 5M he earned on his previous contract, unless a team that was hard up for Cammy/Hossa/Havlat/Gabby loses out and needs to compensate.
-
This. And also the pressure factor. Lets face it - the guy wasn't exactly stepping up when the spotlight was on him. The more attention he got, the more he wilted. Its no wonder he did so well in Pittsburgh where no one expected them to win, and he was heavily overshadowed by Crosby.
-
But he also qualifies for incentives. He might take a cheap one year deal to prove that hes still got what it takes, although I dont know about 1.5M cheap. If the Wings traded Hudler for a cheap roster player and a pick, it would be awesome to have Sully.
-
Fedotenko IS Samuelsson. You realize that, right?
-
I sometimes wonder whether people have any handle on the idea of free agency, or a players worth when scores damn near 40 goals.
-
Huh? Cammalleri is rumored to want 7M, and he'll get AT LEAST 5.5 of that.
-
Sounds like its a done deal. Hossa didn't waste any time, did he?
-
Meh, who cares? Chicago can ride themselves into cap hell for all I care, which is exactly what theyre going to do if they sign Hossa. Go for it, Chicago. Defense and depth win championships.
-
They probably think they can trade Huet and his 5M+ salary. Just like they thought they could trade Khabi.
