WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET
YoungGuns1340 replied to aflac9262's topic in General
How can you think its improbable? The Ducks are giving us lots of chances and Giguere hasnt looked good since Game 1, if then. Detroit can pot a few goals in the next 2 and keep Anaheim back. Theyve done it a few times in this series and we all know how theyve learned to thrive on adversity. Hell, we havent even gotten a chance on the PP yet! -

I dont know what you guys are talking about. The Wings arent playing that bad. Hasek...eh, on a good night, he nabs the first 2 goals easy. Well wake up, we always get better the longer we play. And those minutes are going to catch up to Jackman, Huskins, Dipenta, and ODonell. -

I dont think Anaheim looks like anything special right now. And Detroit doesnt look that bad either. Hasek needs to wake up, but I still feel confident well pull this out. -

Blaspheme! :munch: You know the Wings are going to have the highest scoring playoff game in NHL history tonight! Hattricks all around! :carrot:  -
Yep, its been Giguere, Richards, and Ward since then.
-
Im having a hard time deciding between Lidstrom and Zetterberg (not much of a risk, I know.) I think Ill go with Zetterberg.
-
Either Zetterberg or Datsyuk pots a goal tonight. Hell, why not both. Wings win Game 4 by scoring 3 or 4 goals.
-
Haha, thats priceless. Props to Wings scouting for almost all of that. At any rate, this is the reason Im rooting for Ottawa over Buffalo. An Ottawa-Detroit final would ensure a European captain can win the cup and will also put a stop to all that bulls*** about "soft Euro teams not being able to hoist it." Don Cherry will likely have a meltdown, but Id love to see the Wings an their 60% Euro roster win the cup.

Their should be an * excepting justtheducks from this thread. I dont think any poster - even samadelphia - got under my skin as much as this guy does and Ill be the first to admit hes brought out the worst in me. I apologize about that to the board and its members, but I simply cant extend an apology to justtheducks.

Yeah, because you you KNOW that Drury is going to accept 5.5M when hes scored a bazillion playoff GWG's this year, coming off a stretch of awesome seasons, has leadership and grit to boot, and is a highly highly coveted commodity in this years market. It amazes me a bit that you can say with confidence that Detroit would have 1.2M if theyd signed Drury. Too many assumptions to make judgements like that.

I still dont expect Anaheim to fall apart tonight. Im banking on this game being not as tight as Game 1, but still a hard fought battle. Im not sold on Pronger's absence meaning a win for the Wings, and I think a lot of people on here feel the same way, but you have to look beyond the lineups for tonight and look at whats at hand: One team can go up 3-1, one team can tie it up 2-2. That right their is motivation enough for neither team to sit back.

Well, Detroit had injury problems all year and they still came away with a pretty damn good record considering Osgood, Hasek, Holmstrom, Franzen, Chelios, Schneider, Kronwall, Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Lebda and Samuelsson were all out for extended periods of time. As for the playoffs, Pronger and Kunitz might hurt for one game, but Detroit has already played with their #7 and #8 defenseman for the majority of the playoffs while their #3 and #5 defenseman were out for a good deal, and then their #2 and #3 were out for an even longer time. Not to mention that Zetterberg wouldnt have played for the last few weeks and neither would Lebda have if it werent the playoffs. Everybodys got their injuries, and to be quite frank, the Wings have gotten pretty damn far with theirs.

The Ducks SHOULD be the more physical team. But they arent playing like it.

I think the Ducks will be fired up after a Game 4 defeat, but the Wings win the game anyways. -
A "big hit." What planet are you from? I gotta say you must be jaded from being a Ducks fan, because thats not a "big hit" - thats a dirty hit, an illegal hit, a vicious hit, brutal hit. Take your pick. Those kind of things don't belong in the game and it really is a testament to the organization that is the Ducks when they slap an A on the jersey of a guy who has trouble respecting his fellow players. ...And the worst part about that is, this isnt his first time doing it nor does he only go after the agitators or enforcers. As others have said, hes attempted to injure Steve Yzerman who, regardless of whether or not you are a Red Wings fan, is thought as one of the classiest guys to ever lace 'em up. Although, Steve Yzerman DID retire over the summer, so its possible you arent sure who the guy is.

Just to piggyback off of what other people said here, I think it speaks more to this teams championship abilities when they win a game 2-1 against Anaheim through ugly goals and goaltending.

You have made more than enough comments on this board that justify your classification as a moron as being pure fact rather than bias. Once you start adding some intellectual fiber to this board, then maybe Ill change my mind, but until then, I wont hold my breath.
