Amazing kills. Kinda missed the moment, but what a pass by Sammy. Maybe thatll make him give up the puck to his teammates a little more. -

Aaron Ward on versus? Where do they get these guys? Is any NHLer qualified to be on TV these days? -

It makes me wanna puke when Versus calls themselves "hockey central" -
Follow the rules please. Wings win and make the Versus crew kiss their asses.

The difference is...if the Red Wings had open practices all the time, there would be absolutely no concentration possible for the players. There would be a constant mob. And whether or not the Wings have an open practice or not has nothing to do with whether or not they are autograph friendly. Brett Hull was kind enough to give me an autograph when I met him at Blockbuster. The same with Robert Lang when I met him at cheeburger cheeburger, Steve Yzerman was Class A (not really a surprise) when he took his citizenship test at Bloomfield Hills Middle School some odd years ago, and my roomate from college who is Ukrainian/Russian hung out with Pavel Datsyuk twice at a Russian club in Pontiac.

For the beginning of the playoffs, Sammy was playing with very little confidence and it showed on the ice. Since about mid-way through the series against San Jose, he started picking it up. The complaints youll hear about him are usually about how often he shoots instead of passing and when he chooses to shoot. Sammys got a nice wrister and a pretty good slapper too, but too often his decision making about when and where to shoot is off. Sammy also set himself up to be a decen second liner last year, and for most of the season he looked more like a fourth liner.

I dont know where people are getting this "Handzus is so great" stuff. Hes huge, but a complaint from a lot of Philly fans was that he doesnt use his regular size advantage enough. Add on to the fact that he is already slow AND that hes had a knee injury and...you're looking at a more defensive version of Robert Lang who has a little more trouble putting the bisket in the basket, has been off for the entire season, and was more suited for the old NHL. Put him aside Havlat and hell do wonders, but who wouldnt? Put him aside what Detroit has to offer and youll be sorely disappointed.

Its not a back injury by any means in the traditional sense. We arent talking about a Zetterberg/Bertuzzi back injury. We're talking about a broken sacrum. As for him skating on Saturday, thatll give him about 2 weeks of conditioning before he can enter into the lineup. As for him being up to game speed, that never happens until you actually play in a game.

The Wings should dump Markov and Schneider and sign Hamrlik. He is essentially a hybrid version of Markov and Schneider - A physical Dman with offensive talent and a good point guy. Lidstorm-Hamrlik Kronwall-Lebda Chelios-Quincey-Lilja
-
You do know that the recovery period for the injury is 6-8 weeks, right? At any rate, it would be nice to see Kronner back, even if it was Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals.

I dont know how a hardcore hockey fan can be a fan of basketball. I mean, you have guys that are 5'11 running around throwing thunderous body checks and when they get hit, 98% of the time they just keep on going like nothing happened. In basketball, you have a 6'9 250lber that falls flailing to the ground if his arm is bumped by a guy...and then he has to have his teammates help him up.
-
I dont know about you guys, but I think Lebda has been the worst guy out there in this series so far. But its hard to fault the guy. If it werent playoff season, hed still be on IR.

Like someone else said, its all about the positive energy. Every Wings fan on this board knows how well the Ducks play and that they can beat us in any game, but this is hockey. Any team can win on any day in this sport. So, Wings take it tonight. I like the 4-2 prediction, or a 3-1 prediction. -
Did you watch Detroit at ALL in the last series??? They didnt bring their A game until the third period of Game 4!!!
-
Are you serious?? Even the biggest of morons know that the only reason that the East has been so dominant lately is because the few decent Eastern teams can coast through the playoffs til the Stanley Cup finals. Carolina barely beat Buffalo for christ sake, and Buffalo was missing literally HALF their defense and they BARELY beat Edmonton. Had Edmonton not had to put up with teams like Detroit, San Jose, and Anaheim, they wouldve come into the finals a lot more fresh than they were. As for the Senators this year, exactly what adversity have they faced? Their biggest obstacle so far has been Marty Brodeur who was playing more like Manny Legace. Theyve faced easy teams and have suffered few setbacks and even fewer injuries.

Comrie will get more than 2.5M. Closer to 3.5M.

Roll out the Welcome mat for the Wings. Theyre finally gonna come out with all cylinders pumping and take this game by 2 goals. Wings win game 3. -
Man, the Sabres have yet to show up this entire playoffs. What a waste. They were lucky they got the 8th seed in the East. If Buffalo had faced Calgary in round one, with the way they were playing, I wouldnt have been surprised to see them out in the first round. Buffalo has elevated their game every so slightly for each series and STILL they are playing like a fraction of the team they are.

ehh, the bad passes are always the ones that stand out. Lilja has had a few lately, but its just been that - a few. And to be honest, which defenseman on the Wings (exception Lidstrom) hasnt been a giveaway monster these last 2 games?
-
Do people honestly care THAT much. If ANYTHING, this means more minutes for guys like Filppula and Franzen. Instead of Getting Calder's 7 minutes a game, Kopecky will likely get 3-4 minutes, and be out there with a guy he played with a lot last season in Filppula. Not a bad move at all. As for Hudler, I think he would be a better instertion considering he has good skill, but hes simply too small. Until he figures out exactly how to evade the strength and size at the NHL level (it took St. Louis a while), he should steer clear of the hardest hitting/biggest team in the league.
-
HAHA. YEAH and the Ducks fans on here werent throwing out excuses.
-
We are scoring goals and have good goaltending. That in itself means it cant be Edmonton all over again. Man, being at this game tonight was nuckin futs. The fans were crazy...I have no voice. It was pretty brutal to have two goal reviews and have BOTH of them be called goals. How often does that happen?? Being in the arena, its hard to figure out why the 1) the whistle was apparently not working and 2) there was no penalty on the play for goaltender interference. Oh well, I thought the Wings played AWESOME after that 1st period and that abysmal penalty. These teams are very evenly matched, but I think Detroit still has the slight edge. I have yet to be impressed with Giguere, Anaheims PP, or Chris Pronger.

No, I just dont think people "suck ass" for having to take a piss. As long as they dont stand up in front of me for extended amounts of time, then Im fine. Get up if you have to and move out of the way quickly. Whenever Im at a game, this is what people do, and I really dont mind. I usually just look around them if i can and if not, I wait the whole 5 seconds it takes them to move.
