If that were the case, the 4 teams in the final rounds wouldve been eliminated already. I can guarantee you fans of all of the 16 playoff teams have had this conversation already, whether in the 1st round or the 4th.

If things continue as they are, it doesnt matter how many points Lidstrom will have. Dominik Hasek has been a wall for the past 3 or 4 games. The defense is battered, and Lidstrom is the glue thats holding it together, but if Hasek's play remains at the level its been at, its his.

Hes known for being a pretty gritty defenseman.

Who cares. The fight had absolutely no bearing on the game whatsoever. In fact, it was probably one of the least memorable fights in a game Ive seen in probably a decade. Nothing really happened and nothing really came of it. I don't think I wouldve even remembered there had been a fight in the game if this thread hadnt been posted.

Well, after all the defending of the Red Wings empty arena, I just got the phone call of a lifetime. A good family friend of mine was at a bar last night, and some guy was raffling off Red Wings Tickets. Tom, my buddy, knows how much I love the Red Wings and bought a few raffle tickets....and GUESS WHAT??? I'M GOING TO GAME 2 OF THE PLAYOFFS TO WATCH THE RED WINGS BATTLE IT OUT WITH THE DUCKS!!!!!!! I really couldnt be more excited. I have no idea where my seats are, but I can assure you guys, although I usually like to sit down and keep a close eye on the game, I will be decked out in Wings gear screaming my head off.

Francois Beauchemin: According to one Duck fan, the 3rd best defenseman in the NHL, behind only Pronger and Niedermayer. Last time I checked, the Ducks had 7 or so chances to get themselves ugly goals.

Welcome to the boards! Nice post. Youre right on about the game too. These are the type of games we have to win if we want to get the cup. Its been quite a few playoffs since Ive seen Detroit this resiliant.

Nope. I thought the game was more or less dead even 5 on 5. We won the game with our goaltending and PKing.

Yup. Hasek got lucky. His positioning isnt that great because of all the open nets. We beat ourselves because we couldnt burry the puck, etc. etc. A few more games and Ill be completely immune to the wings never getting any credit when they win.

What I saw was: "Hasek was good, but I thought we missed quite a few empty nets."
