Its ridiculous how much Detroit has had to travel so far. More than San Jose. More than Anaheim. More than Vancouver. Obviously, more than any Eastern team. Unfortunately, most people think of the travel as an "excuse" but it has a huge effect on teams.

Maybe you didnt read through the entire thread, but there are a lot of people who dont agree with the poster. And Im sure there are plenty of threads on Sharks boards that are assinine as well. Happens on every board.

Doms good at rebounding, hes taken his lumps like a man, acknowledged when hes deserved the criticism, and (unlike most people seem to think because he only faces 18 shots a game) he makes HUGE saves game in and game out.

While I do think Cleary has been one of our best players, I dont agree that the Wings would have "little chance of advancing without him." Clearys getting a lot of metion now - and rightfully so - but hes part of a group of lesser-names (Franzen, Filppula, Lebda, Lilja) that have been working their asses off to get us where we are in combination with the big guns. I do think Cleary is irreplaceable at this point though.

probably because our offense has been pretty spotty in this series so far. It wouldnt be a bad idea to try it out. While Cleary has been awesome, he easily could show up more on the scoresheet with more time on that line. Its a win-win situation.

You know whats funny about this series though?? Neither the Wings nor the Sharks have played up to their level yet. I know the Wings can play better and I KNOW the Sharks can too - all Wings fans here do - and its going to be a real exciting series if both teams decide to start stepping it up.

I dont know who Id want to face. Both good defensive teams, but Id give the goaltending to Vancouver and the offense to Anaheim.

Why is Babcok such a ****** bag?? What is wrong with putting Cleary or Franzen on that line instead?? Cleary, Franzen, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lang, and Bertuzzi. Nobody else except Filppula should be in the top 6.

I got to NHL.com a lot to check the scores of the game. I don't know why I waste my time - I guess its just a habit - but the amount of errors on that site is ridiculous. Youd think the official site for the league would be the one you could go to for all the right information - apparently not. Today is a perfect example. I only saw the last 10 minutes of the game today, but after the game was over, I went to check how the game went down according to the scores and apparently, Pavel Datsyuk's goal today was an empty netter. Now, I understand that Datsyuk did have Nabby beat and the net was gaping, but still, how can you screw up something so simple?? On top of that, it took them about a week after the playoffs started for them to actually put up the playoff stats. Now, I can tolerate this crap from sites like ESPN - its expected - but its just embarassing for the site to have such stupid mistakes. Sorry for the rant, but its been bugging me for a few years now.

You could tell he was gonna break out this year - his leadership and defensive skills have been phenomenal all year. People forget its not just a switch that gets turned on for the playoffs and that it only comes with certain players. I called it all season. Datsyuk will perform and Lang wont be much of a difference maker.

I am SO GLAD you brought this up. I am the hardest core Red Wings fan I know, but when I go to a game, I cant manage to be screaming my head off unless the game is a blowout and the outcome is decided early. Otherwise, Im watching every pass, every play, ever call, every move on the ice - thats just how I am. I like to talk about the game with whoever Im with, but jumping up and down and crap really isnt my thing. Paying attention to the game is. Thats strange, because the arena was still going crazy til the end of the game. And the score was 2-2 with 8 minutes left.

Well, Im in Vegas right now so the game times arent really complying with my schedule, but for the few periods that Ive gotten to watch, this team continues to impress me withs its balance. New guys are getting up on the scoreboard each game. Correct me if Im wrong, but Lilja and Markov are the only guys without some points on the board. Thats not bad.

Yup thats exactly the point. The NHL has so many image problems already, youd think theyd make sure their official site was on its toes all the time.

It doesnt matter how Wilson sees thing, but how the Wings in the dressing room see things.....and Im guessing what their looking at is the fact that they came back from being down 2-0 in the game to win it in regulation time. Little comments like this are stupid but every coach makes them. Im sure Wilson is just trying to rally his troops so they dont get too down on themselves and lose a little bit of confidence.
