Well Hull never lived in Detroit - he lived in Birmingham, MI which is a world away from Detroit.
-
I didnt see the hit so I cant comment. Maybe it was questionable, but undoubtedly not intentional. Either way, Hull always has to take a position to stir up s*** - its his job. His opinion isnt rule, so we dont need to pay too much attention to it.

I love how people can make these posts and still claim themselves to be knowledgeable hockey fans. Hockey is all about unpredictability, hard work, and the "anything can happen" ideology. The reason this series is over 7 games is because the sport of hockey needs that much to show who is the better team - and even then it doesnt always happen. Buck up. The series is now 1-1.
-
What did I tell you guys??? The next 3 wins are gonna come all in a row.

^ Embarassment to hockey fans everywhere.

Hes keeping it simple. I liked the comment he made after game 6. Something about "just keeping it simple and getting the puck to the forwards." too many of our Dmen are attempting passes that are out of their league - even out of this league. They need to keep it a bit more simple and well be fine.

It may LOOK like he stood on his head, but he didnt. Youll hear a lot of people saying this crap because whenever a goaltender gets a shut out or stops a significant number of shots, hes all of a sudden godly - they pay no attention to what kind of shots they were. Detroit is notorious for taking about 10-15 shots a game that a 4'8, 65lb 2nd grader could stop. The funny thing is, Kipper was one, if not the best goaltender in the playoffs this year, yet you dont hear a peep about him because he had a high GAA.

You gotta look at it this way: Detroit played like crap and they only lost 2-0. Not bringing your A game is an automatic loss in the playoffs. The Wings know that. The Sharks played a great game, the Wings didnt. Id feel a lot worse about this game if the Wings played great and still lost.
-
What were the lines tonight, other than Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Calder?? Im surprised Babs went with Calder. Whats wrong with Dats-Hank-Franzen, and Cleary-Lang-Bert?? Why did Calder need to be in the top 6 again?
-
We'll figure it out. This is far from the end.
-
To be honest, I dont really have an explanation for while I feel so confident about the Wings playing the Sharks. Ive been feeling the wings in 5 against the sharks right after we found out wed be playing them. Dont ask me why...just a gut feeling I guess.
-
Im not worried. First game is still a feel out. If anything, Id prefer the Sharks to win this game and think this series will be an easy stretch for them. Nothing like catching a team off guard.
-
This is exactly what I thought would happen in the first game of the series: We lose. I know it seems illogical, but I see the Wings in 5. The next 4 straight are wins.

Man I am SO GLAD that the Rags got grilled. I was pullin for em until they made those remarks about the Sabres not being that great. Kind of makes you question the coaching skills of Renney - if he didnt know his and Avery's remarks were going to fire up the Sabres, what does he know? And if he doesnt think that the Sabres are a good pick for being the best team in the playoffs, who is? glad to see them get wiped tonight.

If Guerin knows what the Wings do....then why cant Manny Legace stop every Wings shot? How come J Williams cant score on every passing play? How come Fedorov isnt racking up the points against the Wings over an 8 game span? Give me a break. There are guys that know the Wings inside and out better than Guerin does and it hasnt gotten them jack s***.

Wasnt Mcreary the ref that gave game 4 to the Flamers on a silver platter?? Good to see hes back in it.
-
Like I said, I feel strangely comfortable about facing the Sharks. In fact, just like I said with the Flames, I dont even think it will be that close of a series. I think Detroit will come out and surprise the Sharks with some dominant play. Call me crazy, but Wings in 5.

Well the Anaheim Ducks wouldve had a free pass to the Conference finals either way. The only teams that are going to be able to take down the Ducks are the few who have offensive arsenals (Detroit and San Jose). Vancouver will be just another Minnesota to Anaheim - a defensive minded team that plays the same game as Anaheim, except at a slightly lower level. -

What a boring game.. -
The fact that EVERYBODY was laying the body on makes me think yes. Babcocks plan from game 1 has been centered around physicality. Why would he change a working system now? Babs will make sure everyone is physical.
-
You cant really blame them for wanting to face Detroit. They manhandled us this year and Anaheim looks almost unstoppable. However...Calgary said the same thing about Detroit, and a lot of their attention was again focused towards Dom. Dom has made some huge stops and I, for one, dont even think weve seen the best of him so far. Itll be nice to see how SJ handles only having 20 shots a game. They can expect Dom to roll over all they want, but they have to get through Detroits defense first.

yeah I said that too. He was awesome today. Not in the flashy standout way, but in the cool, calm, and mature way. I doubt most NHL fans even knew he was a rookie.
-
The funny thing is...the only time we had the lead...the game was over. They didnt HAVE to opportunity to be pissed about losing.

you'd be welcom to.
