Our defenseman who are capable of playing the point are dropping like flies. I dont think any forward will take regular shifts as a defenseman. If they do, Id expect it to be Draper.

If Detroit can call up Quincey quick enough, there may not be a debate about which forward gets benched. We may be seeing 13 forwards next game.

Somebody said that they heard on TSN that Lebda is out with a concussion. I dont know if this has been confirmed yet though.

WHAT??? Franzen has been AWESOME the ENTIRE series. Did you really watch the game even then?? He showed amazing hockey smarts on Chelios' shorthanded goal. He couldve passed the puck to Draper, but he had his head on right and showed patience in waiting for the late man. Not to mention he hits like hell and pisses the other team off.

Yeah, Id give the edge to Cleary too. Hes bee ALL over the ice. And hopefully his goal will open up the floodgates. We know how streaky of a scorer he is. But in all seriousness, our 3rd and 4th liners have been the ones keeping us in the series over the past 5 games.

Franzen is the man part 2. His foresight to not pass the puck to Draper and wait til Chelios got into the play was pure smarts. Cleary, Franzen, Homer with his hits, Lilja with his Pking, and Dom with his stops. Its going well.

Something like "Don't let them hit our goalie after hes got the puck. They keep going after him."

Difference in this game = special teams. The PK has given Detroit all kinds of confidence, energy, and momentum. And Franzen needs to be getting top minutes. Hes proving night after night that hes got the hands to go along with his grit, size, and speed.

Is anybody else got the love goin for Lilja ?? Not only has he been a beast defensively, but he actually made a few deft offensive passes that almost got him a primary assist on a goal. Lilja has been one of our most consistent Dmen so far. Gotta say Im really impressed.

Regardless of whether or not Detroit is "not giving Calgary a thing," DETROIT ISNT TAKING. And have some respect for other peoples opinions. Don't downgrade someone else's opinion.

I hope youre right. Ive been positive for the past 2 games, and havent stopped believing that wed pull out a win until the dying minutes of both games, but I just cant do it anymore. Im all out of positivity.

...and thats exactly what I said. Calgary hasnt been that great all series, with the exception of game 3, yet the Wings still are having a hard time for the 7th period in a row. Calgary has been entirely beatable and Kipper has not been the god the announcers have made him out to be. Less shots to the chest and glove and the pucks will start to go in.

I can accept that Zetterberg isnt going to be all that good offensively - I wouldnt be surprised if hes still hurt - but still his offensive zone passes continue to be off, and thats not something Im used to seeing. But as for Lidstrom, hes had a few pucks get by him, his stick hasnt been as omnipresent, and his work on the PP has been questionable. I dont want to get on him too much, but when hes played at such a high standard throughout the regular season, you expect them to look even better in the postseason.

I know this isnt directed at me, but Calgary is playing the same exact way they have been in games 3 and 4 - not spectacular at all and only getting quality chances when they are on the PP. Seriously, I may be more pissed about losing to Calgary this year than I have been about losing a series in the past 4 years - because Calgary has NOT dominated. Detroit has had the ability to win every game so far, but they are letting Calgary win. There is a difference between getting beaten by a team and letting a team beat you. Thats what Detroit has down the past 2 games + 1 period.

Are you serious?? Lazy shots and/or shots right into a Calgary PKer on the Powerplay. Defensive breakdowns. Reffing - s***ty. Sammy - useless. Lidstrom + Zetterberg - not their usual selves.
