Dallas got robbed on the offsides call. Modano did a great job of keeping that puck in.

4-2 SJ still

Brendan Morrow says: "f*** yeah!"

Ouch. BAD break for Turco. Lucky bounce for Vancouver.
-
I have a feeling that might happen too...Dallas over Nucks.

Wow. Volchenkov is awesome.

?? Ruutu isnt doing anything but making himself like an *******. There were about 3 or 4 Pens trying to get the Sens to go and nobody would until Talbot took a little cheap shot at Comrie from behind.
-
Are you serious?? Theres a reason why Ouellet didnt even flinch.
-
Hartnell should be suspended for the series. A chump taking out a star player like that shouldnt be allowed.
-
Lame calls all around. No need for the call against the Sens. No need for the call against Whitney to put the Pens down 3 on 5. Go Sens.
-
I KNEW this would happen. The Pens and their 16 playoff rookies underestimated the difference between playoff hockey and regular season hockey.

Just out of curiosity, has Cherry ever bet against a Canadian team. I mean, isnt he predicting Toronto to win the New Jersey-Tampa Bay series?

This is hilarious. I bet Playfair saw that Bert was sitting out and figured it was ok to sit Regehr out then. *** for tat, I guess, but Regehr>Bert in terms of importance to the team. Wait, wait, wait. I just read it and it says Regehr isn't *expected* to play in Game 1. That doesnt mean he wont.

Wings management does not owe it to the fans to disclose all sorts of information to the press a day before Game 1. They are the professionals and they have a job to do. If they feel confusing reports and undisclosed medical information helps them in some sort of way, then more power to 'em. They know whats best for their players, and I especially doubt a hockey player is going to choose to sit out of the most exciting part of the season on his own terms.

I dont see the Wings doing it.

Hank > Bert, so I dont know why everyone is freaking out. I know his size and physical presence will be missed, but its ONLY ONE GAME.

I think its funny that the Flames are talking about this recent win so much. 1) They were playing at home 2) They were in desperate need of a win with Colorado hot on their trail 3) Detroit had a decimated lineup at this point 4) They won by ONE goal, which wouldnt have even happened had Dom stayed on his feet. Thats not an impressive win by any means, especially considering they were very physical in that game and it didnt get them very far. In fact, I seem to recall Dom stoning them many a time in the first period of that game. Babcock made a smart move. He called Dom out on his dive - something I doubt a head coach of DOM's has ever done, especially to the media. Since then, Dom has not been as flagrant in net and he knows hes on a short leash because of it. If ANYTHING, its advantage DETROIT that Hasek took a dive against the FLAMES and it keeps on being brought up. Way to fuel an already competitive guy's fire.

I like that the Flames think "playing the Wings tough" is a free pass to a win these days. Obviously, they havent seen the how the Wings respond lately when the going gets rough. Anahiem is probably the toughest team in this league and when they started throwing their weight around, the Wings kept their cool, and shut the Ducks down playoff style. And that wasnt the first time.

Actually, the opinion Ive gotten from many of the Eastern Conference fans is that Ryan Miller is not playing as well as he was last year. IMO, the kid is good, but i think the Sabres biggest problem will be, should they make it to the SC Finals, facing a team that is used to winning defensive-minded games. I know Ryan Miller has won his fair share of low scoring games, but Id like to see how this kid does over a 7 game series where most games are decided by a goal and scoring 3 goals is considered going all out offensively. Im not saying he cant win behind a stingy Sabres defense, Im wondering moreso how he'd react in a series where letting in 2 goals a game is too many. ...and how many times is a "sure thing" in hockey ever a sure thing?

The phrase stands again: Wings fans are spoiled. We're so used to watching the best defenseman of this era and we're so used to how good he is that we dont realized there is none better. Nick Lidstrom.

Lilja has been fine lately. Hes showed a hell of a lot of poise the past few weeks and has finally brought a phsyical element to his game. I cant complain. Hes keeping his game simple and isnt making a ton of mistakes. Im fine with him as our #6.

I have a feeling it wont, actually. I have a feeling one of these teams is going to surprise and really dominate the series, throwing out all that garbage about it being a dead-heat series. Of course, Im open to being wrong, but for some reason other than Homerism, Im feeling Wings in 5.

Im starting to think Hudler may be this years Fernando Pisani and really be the poster child for the new NHL. There is just something about this kids drive that makes me think hell do some damage in the playoffs.

If you were FROM detroit, you WOULD care about paying the $63 for cheap seats. People outside of Michigan simply dont understand where the economy is at right now.
