Just a little point here: Who was the best line going in the league going into this series? Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry What happened to "the best line in the league" in game 2? It was switched up, and Ryan was demoted to the 2nd line. What happened in Game 2? We had 4 goals scored against us. Babcock is flat out being outcoached. Its broken, Babs. FIX IT!
-
Translation: "Where the f*** are my big stars, and why aren't they playing like that?"
-
Zetterberg has 7 points in 7 games, while his main assignment is to shut-down the Getzlaf line. Hank's production is beyond acceptable.
-
Wow. Sorry to hear that. No shocker though. Who could possibly stomach the ducks other than thugs and/or people who love players who have a permanent s***-eating grin on their face, a la Ryan Getzlaf.
-
Haha, thats actually a really good point. And also depressing when you compare the two plays.

Theres no conspiracy against the Wings. Theres a conspiracy against teams that dominate over and over again, and who offer little room in growth of the sport. Theres a conspiracy for teams that need winning reputations to help build their fanbases. Bettman is all about parity. Bettman is all about showing prospective NHL team owners and investors that an NHL team can make money, no matter where they are. Bettman implemented the cap system so that team owners of s***ty small market teams could still make money, and NHL owners wouldn't go selling off their teams, or closing up shop. Bettman wants to show NHL investors that even s***ty small market teams with no fanbases - like the Ducks - can make money. But the only way he can do that, is if those teams actually have success and thus, make money. Think of it this way. Why would Bettman want the Red Wings to win the Stanley Cup again? So he can go to small market owners and say "well, you don't really have a chance of success with big nasty teams like the Red Wings around. But please keep investing in your money-losing juggernaut." No. He wants to go to Anaheim and Tampa Bay and Carolina and say LOOK! "in this league ANYONE can win. So keep investing money into your franchise, and you too can hit the jackpot!"

In what way? In the way that our key defenseman are always hurt against them? I remember a point in the 2007 series. I believe it was Game 4, but I'm not positive. We had a few 5 on 3s going our way, and we were unable to capitalize, naturally, without Kronwall and Schneider in the lineup. We were brutal on the PP, and we were brutal in transitioning. Now, if you could pick out 2 thinks that have been killing us this series, might they be a transition game and the PP? Maybe had it been Lilja or Rafalski on this ice with Selanne, he wouldn't have gotten so far away from Chelios for the breakaway? What I'm sick of is a PUCK POSSESSION team that RELIES upon its PUCK-MOVING D always being WITHOUT a KEY PUCK-MOVER (or two).
-
Hudler owned Niedermayer in the corner tonight, and he whirled out of a hit from Pronger before the PP. If he can do it (better than some of our bigger guys), Leino could do it. Not I particularly care if Leino is in or not. Hossa and Datsyuk stepping up is more than enough.

When the hell is Babcock going to change the lines
YoungGuns1340 replied to jpd88's topic in General
He won't change them. Did you hear him tonight? "I'm a big believer in just keeping doing what you're doing, and things will come." He doesn't realize that we could just have TWO MORE ******* GAMES TO GET IT RIGHT. -
Haha, did Carlyle write this: They make it sound like a drive by. Too bad it was more like "Engaged in a scrum in front of the net, Holmstrom accidentally clipped Wizniewski with an elbow." But that would be too realistic for journalism..

What is with all this hot netminder talk? Hiller lets out some of the juiciest rebounds I've ever seen from an NHL goaltender in the playoffs. He looks like Osgood did in the regular season. The Wings will blow him the f*** up in the next three games.
-
Haha, good first post! Um....they have palm trees in their parking lot.
-
The Wings played poorly for half the game. But if they played poorly for half the game, what did they do for the other half? Play well, you say? And if the Wings played well, what did the Ducks do? Play poorly, you say? So one team played well for the first 30 minutes, and got 2 goals... And the other palyed well for the second 30 minutes, and because their 30 minutes came later, they didn't deserve to have a chance at overtime? Who the f*** cares if the Wings played like s***. The tide of this game was turned. In the OT, we would've torn them to shreads. Remember what happened when the Wings were playing in OT WITHOUT their 6th Dman? I would've LOVED to see Anaheim play OT WITHOUT one of their Dmen.
-
Nice job, guys. Talk about bad karma... Make a thread about nothing but hate, and the hockey gods s*** on you.
-
Anaheim played well for 30 minutes. They got 2 goals. Detroit played well for 30 minutes. And they were robbed of their 2nd goal. I hope we ass-rape them without Wizniewski.
-
The funny thing? That was Hossa's goal. Can we blame him for being a ghost now? That goal would've been HUGE, and it came off Hossa's stick.
-
I dont know what to say. I really dont. That was as legitimate a goal as there are.
-
FIRE HIM!
-
Sammy redeemed himself on the keep in, but he still fails on the shot
-
Alright. No one on the point but a Swedish defenseman, please.
-
Haha, Chelis balancing out at this point.
-
I'm going to ******* kill Sammy. Hudler does AWESOME work in the corner, and Sammy tossed him the puck.
-
They were talking about it during the intermission. Because Babcock didn't put Cheli in at all during the 3rd period of game 2, Cheli lost his legs, so he couldn't go back in. Can't have a 47 year old sitting around for an hour and a half and then expect to throw him into an NHL playoff game.
-
The only thing that needs to be fixed now is our shot selection. DRIVE THE NET.
-
Who said there was something wrong with Pronger earlier in the thread? Good call. He looks hurt.
