Man, tooling around Birmingham will get you some run ins with the Wings. Ive met Yzerman at Peabody's about 7 or 8 years ago, Brett Hull at blockbusters about 2 or 3 years ago, and now I met Robert Lang - all in Birmingham. But the best part was that I met him at Cheeburger Cheeburger around 5pm yesterday. What was he doing eating burgers for dinner with an early game the next day! Anyway, he was a really nice guy there with his two daughters, one of which talked my ear off. Got his autograph but gotta say, he doesnt look 6'3.

To be honest, even if we lose, we still couldve beaten Nashville. Even with injuries, they still have less crucial offensive injuries than we do, and Osgood isnt much of a match for Vokoun. I think we could take them in the playoffs. And thats when it counts.

There are actually a few guys on the Preds that I like (Sully, Legwand) but if I had to choose one, it would have to be Kariya. Why does he have to look like hes having an orgasm every time he scores a goal??

Yeah because the regular season phenom that was Legace did SO WELL in the playoffs. Give it up man. He managed to stop the puck with about 12 legs in the way. Hes doing just as good as Vokoun whose been helped out by 3 posts already to Osgood's 1. I dont mind the reffing too much, considering the Wings got a 5 on 3 on a pretty cheap call. But man, they need to start calling the more serious stuff. Hits from behind...especially by a guy like Tootoo...should be watched a little more closely.

Is anyone else sick of other teams piggybacking off of the Red Wings? I understand that our team benefits from having great ownership, but it is pathetic how often Illitch has to pay for other owners not pulling their weight. Take some money out of your pockets, put it towards some exciting players, and stop complaining about how the Red Wings organization is monopolizing the sport of hockey in the U.S. Simply because Detroit is a great pull - meaning, it cares about winning and Illitch runs this organization as such - it may be stuck in the West just so our fans can complement other teams income.

Yes, Bert was a good pickup. Hes EXACTLY the type of player the Wings need and if we dont win it all, theres always next year and weve lost next to nothing.

Wow! Im shocked by all the hate...but then again Im not. I mean, I dont like the Preds, but I wouldnt go around saying they "suck and blow" when they have such a great record or call their best players "minor leaguers" and "overrated". Thats beyond childish and makes them look terrible. At any rate, its like Cheli says, if they hate you, you must be doing something right. Bottom line, the reason they hate us is because of our insistent success over the past 15 years.
