    TKACHUK or GUERIN ?

Like the B-hawks would never trade a defenseman of Norris calibre (nominated again while with the Wings) to a division rival??? When you are not in the playoffs and the players you are shipping off are UFAs, you take the best deal and ride on what you earned. If the WIngs offer the best deal for Guerin, he will come to Detroit.

Do you think guys just fall out of the sky and ask to be signed by the Wings??? EVERY player that would be of value to the Wings is of value to another team as well. I dont even know why you have to ask this question. Negotiating is key in any business and when you want something that a lot of other people want as well, you have to offer a competitve price while not selling the farm to get it. Welcome to Econ 101. If we could ship off Willy and defer our bonus payments til next year, I think wed have about 3.5M in cap space. Thatd be plenty for Bert and Fedoruk without having to give up Lang. Although the idea of Bert worries me given his health right now.

    TKACHUK or GUERIN ?

what kind of contract lets you decide if you get traded? I believe you're thinking of a no-trade clause, in which case Tkachuk is the one who has it, not Guerin. And Guerin doesnt have to stay in Detroit. He can easily re-sign with the Blues in the off-season.

noooo thanks. Ive had enough of 6'3 guys that arent physical and can only score in the regular season. No Shanny repeats, thanks.

Come to think of it, Karma will probably bite the Preds owner hard in the ass on this one.

Do you actually think he'll stick around in Nashville?? Hes a rental, and an expensive one at that. The Canucks havent exactly been enamored of Morrison lately and hes a UFA. Combine the fact that Forsberg will be available with the fact that his best friend is Markus Naslund, whom hes already expressed more than interest in playing with, is a Canuck and it makes Nashville that much less likely. And if not Vancouver, he repeatedly has said how much he likes playing for the Flyers.

    TKACHUK or GUERIN ?

I think we have to consider whose line either of these guys are on. If its Datsyuk and Hanks line, Id prefer Tkachuk because hes more physical and fiesty, but theres absolutley no reason to disrupt Hank-Dats-Homer with the chemistry there. The reality is that whoever we get is likely going to be on Langs line and if thats the case, Id prefer somebody with SPEED more than anything. Guerin would be ideal there. ...but do the Wings want to be on the hook for 2.4M next season?? Because Lapointe has another season on his contract after this year.

Kariya and Forsberg are going to have awesome chemistry judging from their glorious season in Colorado together.

Subtracting Lang is only a good move if we can replace him with a center who comes to play in the playoffs like Lang does. Keeping Lang is fine. Hes picked up of late and he always does even more so in the playoffs given the right line mates.

exactly There are still other options - good options - available and Forsberg wasnt exactly what we needed. And for those of you who are so concerned about Holland making a trade, understand that Illitch and the entire Red Wings organization will do everything they can to at the very least LOOK like they are doing everything they can to win the Stanley Cup. The only year we really didnt make a big name trade in recent years was last year, and only because 1) cap space was minimal and 2) There were next to options available in terms of a physical defenseman that didnt cost at least 3 times his worth. Not to mention, Detroit was far and above the best team in the league in the standings. This year that is not the case.

    TKACHUK or GUERIN ?

I feel like we have about 80 threads on this. I like Tkachuk, because hes more of an ******* than Guerin, but Guerin as of now is the one with more talent and has some speed which we desperately need. And then theres that little fact that hes scored 26 goals this year. That might be a little bit of an addition over Willy. Im wondering if Willy, Hudler, and a 1st would be enough for Guerin and Mayers.

that doesnt mean Forsberg will manage to stay healthy that long. Seriously, the Preds gave up a TON for a guy who is so injury prone and who most likely wont stick with the Preds, especially since Brendan Morrison is a free agent this year. I wouldnt be surprised to see Forsberg hightail it over to Vancouver to be with his best buddy Nazzy with an top 2 open center spot. On the bright side, now we might actually have a Nashville rivalry on our hands.

    Name that line

This is "name that line" not "nickname datsyuk" Do your research.

Forsberg trade around the corner....to the Preds?

Eklund is such a ******. All he ever says is "a reliable source" "a dependable source" or "someone close to the situation". I swear to god the guy is a moron. HOWEVER Forsberg to the Preds has been rumored for a while. It will undoubtedly be a rental as I cant think of a reason why Forsberg would want to stay there, but at the same time, Nashville does have the key components to give up. Bottom line is, however, that Floppa chooses where he goes.

Maple Leafs fan sums up Philly loss.

Losing to a team in the second of back to back games after having to travel and having the worst possible goaltender in your net means nothing when you go out the next game and pull out a near-perfect hard-earned win against a hot team with amazing defensive play and an impressive, almost unstoppable goaltender with tons of confidence.

Yeah I really think we can go somewhere if we get a physical 4th liner and a scoring winger - what worries me is if we will actually get that.

...anybody else notice how Zetterberg's shot missed bouncing off of Smith and into the net by about an inch...and then a Red Wings clear takes a fluke bounce off the side boards and ends up in the slot right in front of Ozzy?? Hockey Gods: A little luck, please???
