I've said it before, I'll say it again. Chicago is this years Dallas. Even if they make it out of this series, I still see them as a sandcastle minutes before the tide rolls in.

Man, if this "preview" doesn't sound a whole lot like the Calgary-Wings series in 2007, I don't know what does.

It was on NHL.com's news ticker, and two of the features were "Sid on Ovie" and "Ovie on Sid." They were video clips of each guy talking about the other for about a minute. But now I dont see them on there, which is weird, because I watched them not 4 hours ago.

We're going to have to play him and Malkin hard." Crosby: "A lot of people say he loves hockey more than anyone. I don't think thats true. We just show it differently. I love hockey just as much, if not more, than anyone in the NHL." Nice job, Crosby. Ovechkin compliments you and talks hockey, and you complain about how people perceive you, and insinuate that Ovechkin is no better than you. Props. And you wonder why you aren't everyones golden boy.

Good point. Maybe I'll just use the excuses thrown our way about how well Turco was playing last year in the playoffs? Or how Fleury was a dominant young rookie in his playoff run. Are those more applicable for you?

Wings in 5. I'm strangely confident for this re-match. Lest we forget that Theodore looked "awesome, great, unstoppable, like a wall, etc" until we faced him. You could say the same for Mason too.

Where on earth are people coming up with these "probabilities." Ogsood, Draper, Shanny, what? Theres a reason why numbers don't get retired all the time. Its once in a blue moon that it happens, and thus far, there are 3 criteria that have to be considered: 1. Commitment to the Red Wings - this can usually be circumvented if the player was traded against his will 2. Inducted into the HHOF 3. Considered one of the best at your position ALL TIME. Osgood has NOT EVER been considered one of the best all time at his position. At this point, whether folks like it or not, you can easily look at Osgood's wins and chalk it up to the teams he played behind. Nobody thinks of Osgood being the reason the Wings were great for years on end. We've had all kinds of goaltenders and had success. We've won the cup 4 times with 3 different goaltenders. Osgood has never been a common denominator to our success. That alone should tell you his number won't hang. And it shouldn't. That puts Osgood on par with Lidstrom, Yzerman, Howe, Abel, etc. And he simply does not belong in that category.

Yeah, Helm isn't the 6'0 hes listed as. But man can this guy hit. All he needs is more time and a little confidence around the net, and he could a 15 goal NHL guy.

That has "excuse" written all over it. Yeah, you might get pissed if someone says something about your kid, but is your kid a sensitive 9 year old who doesn't know what the word **** means? Or is he a 20/30-something professional hockey player who gets trash talked to all throughout the game? Spare me. Thats bulls***. Coaches don't have to protect their players because some fan in the stand was being a meanie.

The Sharks D is HORRIBLE. The Ducks offense is SHALLOW. Shut down the top line, like the Sharks more or less did tonight, and you're in the game. Catch the Sharks on the endless breaks that they give you with their bone-headed plays and you're in the game. Bottom line - both teams have obvious weaknesses that can easily exploited by the personnel we have on this team. The more I see of the Ducks, the less scared I am of them.

Hawks remind me of the Dallas Stars last year.

Almost as good as Mark Eaton... Seriously, though. This game has been the battle of who can suck less. Neither team is playing well. They're just capitalizing on one another's piss poor moves all over the ice. I wish the Wings were in the Eastern Conference. It'd be a cakewalk to the finals.

Damn. Go Flyers. Talbot got textbook owned on that 1st goal. Pens need to get the hell out of this period.

Who cares about Downey for the grit factor. I want him on this team for the excitement factor. I want to see more than a handful of fights. In terms of grit, Helm will be in the lineup full time next season, and that will help at least somewhat. Kid has 17 hits in 4 games playing minimally.

I hate Crosby. But that has everything to do with his personality, not his talent. And considering I care a great deal about the talent that this team loads up with, of course I would want him on the team. He better stay the f*** away from our As and Cs though.
