Please tell me Datsyuk tipped that.
-
Watch Kronwall of all people get a hattrick.
-
There goes the Lady Byng!
-
I bet its nothing with Hossa. With the playoffs around the corner, probably just a little tweak that they aren't willing to risk.
-
Babcock WAKE THE f*** UP. KRONWALL + STUART IS NO LONGER A GOOD PAIRING. IT HASNT BEEN FOR 10 MONTHS!! Sorry. Had to get that off my chest.
-
Cleary doesnt belong on a 2nd line.
-
Seriously. ******* play datsyuk more. Hes not human. His energy will be fine for the playoffs. I want a ******* 100 point player on the Wings again.
-
Its fine. It was just an off-hand comment anyways. Should've included one of these I guess:
-
What are you talking about. Do you have anger management issues? It was a light-hearted tongue in cheek comment, considering we're likely to be facing Bobby Ryan in the playoffs. Chill out, dude.
-
Something is wrong here. Datsyuk: 5:39 Samuelsson: 6:13
-
You probably have the worst forum name and signature, considering who we're likely to face in the 1st round.
-
Hudler and Filppula both look so much better in the O zone over the past 10 games (at least) than both Sammy and Cleary. If I were Babs, I'd bump either Hudler to the 2nd line. Sammy-Flip-Cleary is a more traditional 3rd line anyways.
-
Haha you could read Lebda's lips perfectly. "He's a ******* diver. Call 'em both!"

Celine Dion can't have a hockey team, but Gary Bettman is qualified to be the commissioner of the entire league? Give me an effing break. Celine Dion and her husband are a smarter business pair than many out there.

If those voting for the Hart actually took the time to analyze the players, they wouldn't be all over a 100 point players balls. Datsyuk's argument for the MVP is easily summed up as follows: This season, if Detroit doesn't score, Detroit doesn't win. This season, they've needed their forwards to be at their best defensively, because the defense and goaltending has been atrocious. Consequently, if Detroit doesn't have Datsyuk, how many of the 97 goals that hes contributed to aren't scored? And how many of those contributions came when we won by just one goal? It would be interesting to see how many goals and points Malkin and Crosby put up after the game was well in hand. I'm willing to bet that both the Pens and Caps have won more one-sided games this year than the Wings have.

Wait, so....the Atlanta Thrashers....make a faux PSA announcement....featuring a terrible camera presence in Ron Hainsey....and use that faux PSA.....to mock NHL players....who are terrible on camera? Who's the hypocrite again?
-
I actually see this as a positive if the Wings are going to face off against the Ducks. For a guy that wasn't a particularly swift skater before, I could see this injury causing him a lot of problems with forwards coming off the wings. A lot of times with this kind of injury, the guy with the better reputation - in this case Beauchemin - ends up playing worse than the guy who replaced him in the first place.
-
Why do people always get excited about the way a guy fights in the AHL? How many fights a guy has in any other league outside of the NHL carries over to the big leagues about 5% of the time. I anticipate seeing guys like Abdelkader and Ericsson in about 3 fights a year on average. These guys will not drop the gloves at any chance - they'll pick their spots sparingly.
-
Dammit, Florida. I'm pulling for you and you have to go and screw this up?
-
Ideally, St. Louis. I dont think we'd underestimate them, and the travel is bearable. I wouldn't mind Anaheim. In fact, I think Detroit would have the easiest time against them, but I don't like that match up from a travel standpoint.
-
Ya know, the Thrashers might just be on to something

I'd rather see some high school kids get a chance, and have our players stay focused personally. And yeah - this is just because Atlanta needs every bit of help they can get to drum up business for their team. -
God. Holland screwed up again.
-
Kronwall has been brutal defensively this season. The games where hes played well defensively have been well in the minority. Hes going to need a Gonchar-like defensive revelation to be considered an elite Dman.

Who Should be on the 3rd Defensive Pairing in the Playoffs?

This is how I see it too. Lilja-Ericsson, ideally. But since Lilja is unlikely to go, I'm ambivalent between Cheli and Lebda. On the one hand, Cheli is smarter and grittier and smarter, but his skating and speed is really holding him back. With Lebda, its the reverse. Ultimately depends on the team. I wouldnt mind seeing a rotation of sorts. Meech shouldn't get a sniff of playoff time though, barring significant injuries. -
Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too. That entire scrum was basically North Americans versus Europeans. Stafford, Rivet, Roy, McCarthur....Filppula, Sammy, Ericsson, Lidstrom...
