Shh! That'll only make them retaliate with the obvious claim that it was tied in the first place because of Osgood's boneheaded giveaway. At any rate, irrespective of the goaltending, its nice to see the Wings play more or less a complete game. You knew Minnesota was going to come on the third - it was only natural. But the defense was good, and the offense was great. And the shot differential ends up being 46 to 23. Nice protection of the D zone.

It seems like Zetterberg has had to work his ass off for every point hes gotten this season.

If they've been consciously holding back from the physical play for self-preservation purposes only, then all will be forgiven if they bring that kind of play in the playoffs. Physicality behind the net has been absent all season.

Wings are being physical in their own zone. Good to see. Again, it would be nice if we had an energy line to get some momentum back.

Yup, thats exactly what I'm saying. And on that note, you can tell Redmond is frustrated by Osgood as well. Maybe hes doing his own bitching about the goaltending behind the scenes. What a bandwagoner.

Who said anything about Conklin? Bitching usually comes from frustration. Are we not allowed to be frustrated by the fact that Osgood is subpar and he's the only option we have? Sounds like a good reason to be upset if you give a damn about your teams playoff chances.

Way to miss the entire point of the argument. If Osgood can't make a big save, then why do we even have him? We could put anyone in net, if we're going to give them a free pass any time they face a tough stop and let it in.

The expectations of NHL goaltenders on the part of Red Wings fans is not where it should be. Backstrom just showed that shots like that CAN be stopped. In fact, Backstrom has bailed out his defense MANY times tonight. Its not an impossible save. No defense is going to be perfect all game. One breakdown should not = one goal.

I agree, but have the Wild not left Backstrom alone with a few Wings in front about 10 times already this game? Have we scored 10 goals? Its come down to this - Osgood HAS to save some goals. The defense has been great tonight. You can't have them worrying that if they make ONE mistake, its in the net. Because thats how its been all year.

I'm gonna PISSED if we get booted out of the playoffs simply because we lose the goaltending battles. There are 18 skaters on the ice, and every last one of ours are outplaying theirs. Yet the game is tied.

The puck has been sustained our zone about 3 times this game, and twice its ended up in a goal.
