Can we clone Datsyuk already?
-
Gotta give it to the Oilers that period. They played great defensively. Offensively - meh, but theyve pretty much kept the Wings to the outside all night in the O zone. Good PKs from the Wings. Conks looked good enough too. That goal was as worthy as youre gonna get.
-
Whats with all the perimeter play? Make a drive.
-
Wow. You cant place a shot more perfectly than that one. Nice kill for the most part. Lidstroms not having a good night so far.
-
Holy hell. I didnt even see him slap the puck.
-
Datsyuk used his mind power on Grebeshkov haha.
-
Naturally...
-
Goalie interference 5 feet out of the crease. Why dont they just let Roloson skate up the ice and take a slapper at Conks? Clearly youre not allowed to touch a goalie anywhere on the ice.
-
Edmonton is manning their net ridiculously well.
-
Awesome PK. Everyone doin their job.
-
"Hey, hey, lets just see how many passes we can connect in a row. Ready?"
-
A penalty? I might have a heart attack.
-
f*** these refs already.

On a more ironic note, Vodka is what was being excessively downed when Phoenix was chosen as an expansion market. Everything comes full circle.

Being facetious doesn't change the fact that Osgood is very likely not going to get any better than he is now considering his age. It only took 2 seasons for Cheli to fall from a Norris nominee to a borderline #4.
-
That was an analogy. As in, two things that don't have to be entirely same to be compared.
-
And Brian Boucher had a 5 game shutout streak to his name years ago before returning to the same goalie he was and always is. Osgod played well for 4 weeks. Out of the entire year. And last night, he was atrocious. At this point the good games are the exception, not the bad ones. Logically speaking, the good games are the flukes - like Boucher's shutout streak - and the bad ones are where he stands.
-
Because hes older. Why is Kopecky favored over Leino? Maltby over Helm? Theyre older. Its how the Wings operate, and always have.
-
Who said it had to be Ozzie's price? Holland is going to have to be creative all over the roster, unless he wants to end up with the same shoddy defense, same s***ty goaltending, and a downgraded offense by nature of the cap. The playoffs will tell us a lot. If Ozzie gets the nod and steps up, itll quell most peoples fears. But if he sputters, then going into next season with a 37 year old Osgood and a disappointing Howard is even scarier than what we have now. And this will come on top of cutting depth - or stars - at forward.
-
Lets see, he was underpaid for about 3-4 years, and then he took 6M per when he couldve gotten 7-8M per. The guy went from discount to discount.

Concussion keeps Andreas Lilja's career on hold
YoungGuns1340 replied to I Red Wings I's topic in General
Yeah, because players on the Wings never skate away when a guy is grabbing him and screaming in his face that he wants to go. Thats an every game occurrence on this team. -
Zetterberg.

Concussion keeps Andreas Lilja's career on hold
YoungGuns1340 replied to I Red Wings I's topic in General
Crosby is a terrible example. He loses his cool like no one else in this league, and he doesnt fight fairly either. The whole point of having an enforcer on the roster is so that if the guy gets rocked, so what? Hes expendable. Lilja is a key guy this season, and hes out because hes fighting when hes a non-fighter. On that note, Draper or Maltby shouldnt be fighting either. Maltby already had the eye injury - no reason he should risk going blind from a fight, and Drapes is a key faceoff guy, which, as the 06 Edmonton series showed us, is essential in the playoffs. That leaves Kopecky. And if Kopecky were to take some fighting lessons instead of trying to prove hes a skilled guy, then wed at the very least ameliorate our situation. But at this point, Kopecky hasnt shown any interest in fighting, and until he learns how to, he shouldnt be fighting either for the sake of his health, although hes definitely expendable. -

Is it really that hard of a concept? An enforcer on this team means Lilja doesnt have to fight to begin with. -
I lurk on HF for kicks, but for the most part, its a bunch of zit-faced 13 year olds obsessed with fantasy hockey and alternate between playing video games and jerking off to their moms victorias secret catalogs. For the majority of them, I wouldnt give 2 s***s about what their opinions are.
