I'm curious as to how those statements are "100%" true. I imagine your ability to be objective has a little bit to do with being a fan of the Flames, and looking down the throat of a 2-4 road trip record. At any rate, if we've gotten the benefit of the doubt in this game, it only evens up for the multitude of 3 on 5s we were arbitrarily served with in the beginning of the season. It all evens out.

Except for that whole..winning a cup thing...
-
Man, NICE deflection by Langkow.
-
Man, that wasn't a great goal by Kipper. Poor guy is So tired. What has he faced, 40 shots?
-
Are we on a powerplay? Damn, the Flames have got to be tired.
-
How is he a *****? He took one in the head when he wasn't looking. I'd like to see you withstand them. I give credit to him. One of the few times this year where hes stood up to not one, but two guys. With that said, its pretty clear that everyone knows the Wings are soft. And our "enforcer" of a PP looked more like Marek Malik instead of Probie.
-
I can't believe that Kipper was picked up off waivers..
-
It was just a matter of time.

The funny thing is that this "NumbaSixty-Six" guy didn't start coming around until the Pens were actually back in the playoff race. When the Pens were stinking it up, he was nowhere to be found. He'd been absent since the Pens went home cupless.

GM's want to give 10 minute misconduct penalty for fighting
YoungGuns1340 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
So we should take away the staged fights - the ones that are typically between a pair of established fighters, who know are prepared to fight..... ....but keep the spontaneous fights in the game where guys like Jordin Tootoo don't even square up before laying the beat down on someone? Awesome logic. -
http://www.nhl.com/standings/playoffmatchup20082009.html I don't know how long they've been doing this, but NHL.com has a page on their site that lists the matchups if the playoffs were to start today. As of now, the Wings would be the #2 seed, facing off against the Edmonton Oilers. 1. Sharks vs 8. Preds 2. Wings vs 7. Oilers 3. Calgary vs 6. CBJ 4. Chicago vs 5. Canucks Couple of interesting things in this potential scenario - no Dallas, no Anaheim, no Minnesota. Its also pretty crazy that the Hawks are as high as 4th. I really like that CBJ vs Calgary match-up. In the East, there would be a sick match-up between the Pens(8) and the Bruins(1) Thoughts? I know this could change at any time, but I thought it was interesting, mainly because I hadn't really contemplated facing the Oilers in the playoffs.

The Bluejackets are confident against the Wings, especially after their recent victory. On top of that, they'll be hyped up to be in the playoffs, and furthermore, they'll be even more hyped up to prove their game against a team like the Wings. Confidence, intense motivation, a great coach and a great goaltender is precisely what has taken us down in past seasons. Edmonton is definitely most favorable at this point. Roloson is hot, but Edmonton isn't the hard-hitting gritty team it was when we faced them last time.

Nice save Conks.

Damn, Colleen Howe's funeral service is at St. Hugo in Bloomfield Hills? My sisters a teacher there - she has the same first name as Mrs. Howe too.
-
God. Get Ericsson a full time spot right effing now. Hes huge frame is a much better asset than Lebda's skating.
-
It should be. Bryzgalov looks like a bobble-head out there and Phoenix is weak as it is. We should at least be ahead by a goal or two.
-
Damn, Kopecky, wtf? Watch your stick. For an unintentional high-stick, that was as blatant as they come.
-
It was because the guy asking - MrSandman - was ready to jump all over Conklin for it being something like a goal on the 3rd shot. Thats why he asked - hes an Osgod slappy and was hoping he'd have more backing to say Conklin is worse or just as bad.
-
Its not hard to check the play by play report for factual information.
-
The goal was the 7th shot.
-
6. 7th was the goal. 8th was the last shot for PHX of the period.
-
We should be destroying this team. ESPECIALLY after an 8-2 loss.
-
No, it was definitely Cheli in front of the net letting Hanzal do what he wanted - I meant before that when the puck was in the corner, which lead to Hanzal being able to ocme out in front. It was a combination of Meech, Stuart, Cheli, and even Conks not getting it done.
-
Way too many rebounds in front of Bryzgalov that we're letting get away.
-
Man...Datsyuk looked like Hossa on that shot. On the goal, Stuart didn't cover, but Meech too looked lost out there. Like he didnt know if he should take over on defense, or take the cover as a forward.
