    A bunch of Wings signings

I thought Kolosov was older? Like, 23-24?

    Chris Pronger traded to Philly

Suddenly, I feel a lot better about making the Finals again.

    2009 NHL Entry Draft GDT

I was wondering where Kadri was from. Lebanese women are the best.

Pretty sure Abdelkader was a fan of the Wings.

    2009 NHL Entry Draft GDT

Of all the guys, he seems most likeable so far. Kane was pretty good too. Although Hedman gets a bit of a bye - its hard to be funny/sarcastic when you arent speaking in your first language.

    2009 NHL Entry Draft GDT

He was. Matt Duchene grew up an Avs fan? Man, that has to be awesome for him. Hopefully they don't trade down.

John Tavares has the personality of a bread crumb. Or Sidney Crosby.

    2009 NHL Entry Draft GDT

No shocker. Pretty sure TB is happy now that they've got their Dman.

Matt Duchene looks like hes going to puke. Haha.

    Chris Pronger traded to Philly

f*** that. I want him healthy as hell every time he faces off against the Pens.

    Chris Pronger traded to Philly

You know what my favorite part about this is? Now Crosby and Malkin have to deal with Pronger in the playoffs.

    new RFA compensation numbers

If somebody wants to screw Kenny over, an offer-sheet of 3M would do it. Hudler is worth 3M, but the Wings cant afford to pay him that. And losing him for a 2nd rounder is damn near pathetic. That, and I dont see the Wings matching the offer only to trade Hudler.

    McCarty offered a two-way deal

The "over-35" clause is only applicable if the guy retires. If hes on a two-way contract, he gets paid one salary in the AHL, and a different, bigger salary at the NHL. At no point does a player playing in the AHL who has a two-way contract count fully against the cap. He'll probably see about 12 games, I'd suspect. Good move.
  18. No. Hes not sure. There are no options. Thats retarded. The average per year counts against the cap. Thats it. No other options.
  19. Helm has better hands than Draper. I peg Helm to be a borderline 2nd/3rd liner in the mold of Cleary. At best, hes the next Kesler, who took a while to develop due to his focus on grit and defense, and was criticized for his lack of finishing when he was in his early 20s.
  20. Actually, you cant do that either.

    Future of The Joe uncertain...

Yup. Big cities are always devoid of corruption.

    Future of The Joe uncertain...

MSG has been moved around, restructured, and in 1991 underwent a $200 million remodeling. The name has stayed the same. Thats about it.

    09-10 Cap

Lebda is not expendable by any means. It amazes me that people seem to think Lebdas piddley little 650k is where the corner needs to be cut. Out of 147 contracted NHL defenseman, Lebda ranks 134th in cap hit. Lebda's contract is exactly the type of contract that teams need in order to function under a cap - not get rid of.
  24. It says Fletcher is talking with Detroit about Harding. That doesn't necessarily mean that Detroit is interested in Harding. Perhaps Fletcher called up Holland and said, "We're interested in Filppula or Hudler. Are you interested in Harding?"

    What do you do?

Follow these Rules. I want to see what people do if this ends up being the scenario. 1. Hudler is gone, via trade or offer-sheet 2. Hossa leaves for free agency, and doesn't return 3. Draper, Maltby, and Homer will not be traded. 4. Helm is on the team. Abdelkader is not. 5. Howard is back-up. End of story. 6. Lilja goes on LTIR. 7. Go with an even cap number of $57M (a 300k improvement). 8. Keep in mind you need to budget for a 13th forward and a 7th Dman. Datsyuk (6.7) Zetterberg (6.08) Franzen (3.95) Cleary (2.8) NTC Holmstrom (2.25) Filppula (3) Maltby (.88) Helm (.59) Draper (1.58) NTC Kronwall (3) Lidstrom (7.45) Rafalski (6) NTC Lebda (.65) Meech (.48) Stuart (3.75) NTC Lilja (1.25 - salary exempt) Ericsson (.9) Osgood (1.4) Howard (.71) Total: $52.17M (4.83M in space)
