I like Richards, and he should probably have his name on our cup with the way he did us a great service by scrambling Malkin's brains in the playoffs, but that was a lame 5 on 3 from the Rags. Richards wasn't even breaking out that fast, and the Rags were doggin' it. Who were the two Rags on the point? Pretty pathetic. But with that said, we all know what would've happened if Drapes had had a chance like that.

Gratton would come packaged with a pick himself. Hes already cleared waivers at least once this year.
-
If knowing a drug dealer "shakes the foundation" of the Habs organization, an arranged murder would probably be the "dissolution of the Canadiens franchise"
-
Guess the Habs managed to buy off the cops in time
-
This is it? Links to a drug dealer? Better be some hardcore details to follow..
-
Did you steal that joke from the Habs thread?
-
Well some would argue that the public thinks lack of scandal = lack of personality, so who knows?
-
Yeah, they might have hung him out to dry. But I wouldn't be surprised if its something more than that. Either Kovalev was fed up with the situation and was going to go public if the Habs made a move, so they "gave him a break" in order to see if they could get their s*** sorted out without it going public...maybe even having to buy off some cops, etc. Or they wanted to make sure hes name stayed clear. He has been playing poorly lately - maybe it wouldn't have been a jump for the media/fans to say he was in on the partying/drugs himself, and thats why hes been playing poorly. Either way, the whole "giving Kovalev a break" bit reeks to the high heavens now. I'd have a hard time thinking that Kovalev's not going to come out a "victim" once everything is said and done. Its even more intriguing when you think hes been on the trade block - either hes wanted to be traded, or management has wanted to trade him because he was going to air the organizations dirty laundry, since theyve apparently been letting this go for a while.

You'd have to be naive to think *** sex is so rare as to be reported as essentially groundbreaking. This isn't 2002. *** sex isn't illegal anymore.
-
Of course Kovalev knew this is going on. He had said earlier in the year that some of the young players clubbing/partying habits were out of hand. I'm guessing he just more and more disgusted with the way the Habs brass has handled this. If this has been going on long enough, the Habs brass share some of the blame in not nipping it in the bud. Suspend some players if you have to - but don't let it get to this breaking point.
-
So this is how the Habs celebrate their centennial year?
-
To be fair, "a moderately skilled energy player who can fight" and an "enforcer" are not mutually exclusive terms. But I get your point, and agree.
-
Yeah these two points really stand out to me too.

If you ask me, both of our goaltenders have been giving up way too many rebounds, and I really hope one or both of them gets than under control soon. However, Conklin's positioning has been better than Osgood's, and Conklin has also looked like the quicker goaltender all season. Conklin basically did nothing special last night, but there was one point in the game where Conks took a shot from the point with 2 or 3 bodies screening him and he ate up the rebound. And I thought to myself "that save is going to go unnoticed as nothing more than the type of save 'a goaltender should make' and yet those are exactly the kind of pucks that have been going in our net." It may just be those little plays that are the difference between Conks letting in ~2 goals a game as opposed to Ozzie's 3.

I didn't say I'd trade it - I said I'd shop it. Actively. I don't buy all the hype surrounding the 1st overall.
-
And by the same token, for every Zdeno Chara, theres more than a few John Erskines.
-
I'd shop the pick.
-
That would induce skepticism on the Wings part, obviously. Why are we still talking about this?
-
I say we have Hossa call up Gabby, and do our own little Selanne/Kariya experiment. Except with good players.
-
I'll admit - Kopecky had a good game tonight. But Helm and Leino did too. Leino's got top 6 moves, and Helm with 1 hit, and 3 takeaways. You notice Helm's energy every shift hes out there.
-
Yet no one has said anything about Conklin being great. The most anyone has said is that he was solid - he didn't make big mistakes, didn't do anything special either. Essentially, theres no story on Conklin tonight. Theres no need to even bring up goaltending at all unless we're talking about how we lit Ellis up.

Sigh. Reading Comprehension. This was in the context of the Wings seeing Dumont on the ice, not having the view of the Kronwall cross-check that we did, and the *possibility* that Dumont was faking it from the Wings perspective on the bench when they were calling for the too many men.
-
Do you just want to provoke people into making comments? You're essentially building the fire, and adding fuel to it, with that comment. No need.
-
You wouldn't have even known if they were or not if that were the case. Regardless, do you know how many times player bulls*** their injuries? Dumont could've been just trying to earn some sympathy from the refs in the midst of being blown out.

DOMINANT game.
