lol wonder how that worked out on paper. i travel all around north america, i rarely ever see ducks hats or jerseys or merch, or any of the expansion teams that have won lately around. maybe its really important to sell merchandise to the 1800 people who were in the anaheim parade when they won. Maybe they thought they'd make alot of sales to the TINY audience they get when a team without a fanbase makes the finals on TV. they must be pissed now that a team like the wings who sells a ton anyhow, will now sell even more.....and they cant try to strip away our TRADEMARKED hockeytown name, and they must hate that THE RATINGS WERE THROUGH THE ROOF like 2002.......and who was there in 2002? thats right the wings. (and it would be high if any of the original 6 or other big market teams were in there) BUT WAIT, the awesome new NHL will take all the money we make above our cap, and kindly insert it into the coppers of the league and to keep empty arenas in florida and elsewhere running...and not allow us to have all the great players who want to wear red play here (ooo cause we shouldn't be allowed to afford them...we're so evil we buy players, like noone else ever pays for players ~sarc~....-who were often taking cuts in their own pays to bring in more friends - see shanahan, hull, yzerman, robitaille, hasek dealings) new NHL rules and CBA sucks BUT WE WIN ANYWAYS WITH CLASS, GUYS AND CHARACTER DESPITE GARY AND HIS REFS! two late BS calls against anaheim cost us two games. those two games would have sent us to the finals last year too, and instead sent bettmans choice. you have to love how bettman said congratulations to detroit (in a normal tone) AND TO PITTSBURGH WHO WERE AMAZING (in a more excited voice). he wanted them to win so bad..... NBC even said (and they arent big wing nuts) three times during game 5....THESE CALLS ARE REDICULOUS AGAINST DETROIT, THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED DURING THE OFFSEASON. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. PS... TSN......one thing in your face that i still have on vid. Colorado in 5 huh? Monkeys. GOOOOOOOOOOO WINGS and go away refs...especially Dan O'Hell or win.

It makes it so much fun to check in between periods to see what other people are thinking...knowing youre not alone when the good and bad is playing it out on the ice. The graphics, the stories, the layout, the html, the boards are just awesome. I don't even bother much with the official website since I discovered this site. No youre right, but it was nerve wracking if you were going for the Rangers. Pavel Bure hit the post with under a minute left of game 7, which would have tied it and sent it to OT, and who knows what would have happened. What am amazing SCF that was. you think gary will actually show up? maybe he has tickets to see the lakers and celtics.... edit, yes i know theyre not actually playing the same time for once....just reference to bettman's idiotic scheduling in detroit last week still trying to get tickets close enough...and not massively overpriced.... anyone have any access to tickets/? anyone else going to try to do this as well?

ok i wont be able to bring it across the border on the tunnel bus so id have to take a car or buy one in michigan....im in windsor plus i gotta figure out how to put a mock sweater on this thing lol i think i have an extra baby shirt thats supposed to be a gift for a kid ok going back to trying to get tickets.......argh! im trying to get lower bowl tickets to the game right now...if i get them (as i have every round so far) ill do it...maybe ill put a wings sweater on it that says feed the mule lol i dont want to actually hit him though, just make it land in his general area....he's just an immature all star that hasnt learned veteran ways yet...if he was older and acted like this, then a direct plop is in order lol all i can find is random single tickets right now lower bowl...i need two together ...wait, would they kick me out of the joe?

i agree completely....didnt think of it till you said it but yes, very much like Feds.... man and the guys that are really impressing us with moves etc are all young...yet they want to say on the CBC that pitts is the next edmonton....when in reality the next edmonton could very well be detroit... and i'd far rather like to say the next NYI... not only 4 in a row, but a great team, and one that stevie chose 19 for (trottier) and during the last game Draper also said his fav kids growing up was trottier!

i dont understand the fascination with the athleticism of the bobby orr flying goal. dont get me wrong orr was great, but i mean he jumped AFTER he scored...it wasnt even necessary, it was sort of a wierdo's celebration move. if he had jumped first, then put the puck in while flying, that would have been worth all these years of admiration. i saw the orr clip again on CBC a couple months ago, rewound the PVR and was like, whats the big deal? jumping after you score? I think this goal is more impressive than the orr one, and not just because its a red wing. orr was amazing and one of my fav players i read about in books as a kid. WAY TO GO FLIPZ, GO WINGS!

dallas was in the crease with both feet. holmstrom wasnt in at all. if holmstrom was in the crease then it should have also been a goaltender interference since turco was on the edge of the crease, and in order for there to be interference homer would have had to have bumped him the reffing in this game is a joke....caught many non calls going on.....

i agree again. im being unbiased too. I dont like alot of the teams in the west...and i was really rooting for the rangers and canadiens to make it out of the east, but they wouldnt have stood a chance either against any of the teams from the west...eg Anaheim (whom i dislike as well). I'm not positive Pitts will win the cup in the next few years, but it looks promising. Alot of people are talking about how hard its going to be for them to keep this team together with the cap, and more immediately how much Malkin is going to require now (which will be alot more than Sid The Vid pusher) Alot of things can happen to a team from one year to the next positive or negative. If its positive moves from this year on, I would agree they probably will win a cup. And for the record I don't hate pitts, and while im not a fan...i was rooting for them for a few years, when mario came out of retirement, bought the franchise, was attempting to stop the team from folding or moving...i was all for them then just because of their spirit...i think that was the time when Kasperitis was doing his playoff sliding breaststroke on the ice during the first rounds of the playoffs lol. that was cool. GOOOOOOOOOOO WINGS!

i completely agree. i dont even know that pitts looks amazing or anything...it looks like philly just cant connect their passes or get anything going. pitts is good, but the east is not as strong this year...i think the teams doggy listed were completely correctly listed as favorites to win over anyone who came out of the east.

I was at game one in the left corner behind the dallas side during period 1 and 3... 4 rows back from the ice game one. What a wicked experience. What made it even better was Gordie! My girlfriend and I noticed Gordie Howe during the first intermission, sitting at a table with his friend, signing books to a short line. Basically he was selling a book called NINE. It has a beautiful stitched number 9 on the cover. He signed that nine. The pages are embossed if you turn them to the light..with a red wings symbol, and the artwork, quality of paper, the pictures, the stories are amazing. It tells his story from childhood in Saskatoon right up until now (with his wife's unfortunate battle with picks disease...she doesn't even recognize him anymore) The quotes from legends of all time, and how he got the nickname, photos of moments, milestones, when he was almost killed with a skull fracture when he was a rookie, etc etc, all in there! Gordie was great to talk to. I shook his hand...and im 6 foot 7 with big hands myself, and his felt massive. I told him that if big Mac didn't play, that Gordie had big enough paws to get out there still and whoop some butt! Gordie said, "son you are too young, don't you know that my weapons are my elbows?" to which I said "YES of course, but you have those weapons too (fists)". His friend sitting beside him said "yeah i know he's used them around my neck more than a few times " lol. I said "see, i knew it!". Gordie said, "Son youre a big guy, you should go out there and do it!" I laughed and said "I think the crowd would be alot happier if it were you, and the results you'd have on the ice" He laughed hard and we said our goodbyes. He is a great, genuine, sincere amazing person as well as player. I will never forget meeting him. I met Larionov 2 years ago at a best buy signing of his Moscow game DVD near Great Lakes Crossing but it was far more brief and less personal. Larionov was nice, but it was different. I hope Stevie does a signing like Gordie someday soon...maybe come out with a nineteen book. I don't know if Gordie is there signing books still, but he was in game one. It was a table right around the entrance to section 118 by the bar and little Wings store. I know the game is in Dallas tonight and the next game...but either game 5 when we wrap it up, or the next game being the Stanley Cup Finals, look for him. It's worth it. If he's not there, maybe Hockeytown Authentics will have the book. The book even without the meet and greet is amazing! One very very cool picture is of Gordie as a 12 or 13 year old kid on a junior hockey team in Saskatchewan, and hiss team is none other than THE RED WINGS ! ! ! ! They had the same uniform as the Wings did back then except the white stripes on the arms were thinner and there were two of them like the leafs. Everything else was Red Wings, even the symbol. That's cool. Another cool fact is his first traning camp was in Winnipeg trying out for the New York Rangers (my 2nd fav team) gordie has great taste in teams! And it's also amazing to note that during the depression he had to practice hockey one winter with one skate, as the other skate was being used by his sister, until he bartered and gave his sister a dime for the other one! The book is loaded in info. And no I don't get commision lol...this was just an awesome experience any red wing fan should have! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does the yzerman book just have a number 19 on the cover too? god, i wish i could have been there for yzerman's retirement. is that book at hockeytown authentics? thats too bad about your husband. this signing, the book was 70$ with autograph...but gordie was taking pictures even with people just walking by, and people reaching over the ropes were still often greeted and hands shaked etc. i think every signing ive been to of sports guys, you had to buy something though, like larionov's dvd, or gordie's book, or whatever. sucks for a kid though.

if they tried to make it seem like the crowd didnt go nuts with kronwalls hit, then theyre lying. i was 4 rows back from the ice going nuts most of the game...and the place erupted when kronner slammed that guy...it was one of the loudest moments of the game. they must have viewed in on one tiny little section..how typically misrepresentitive of the situation. i got out of my chair, waved my t-shirt, poms, and screamed like nuts, and the entire section around me did the same.

thank god i was at the game and not listening to the idiots on TSN. wings were controlling the puck and won it by talent and desire. experts can go back to recordings of their predictions on tsn that Nashville, AND colorado would beat detroit. idiots

just got home from the game...took the tunnel bus back to windsor. i was 4 rows back from the corner closest to Turcos left blocker. man i have no voice left. all i can say is ribiero is a punk. before the game i was taking pics of the wings in the distance, as they were on the other side of the ice...and since i was wearing a red wing jersey and was ignoring him, or cause im 6 foot 7, he tried to act all cool and slam the glass in front of me...so i did it back. he looked all pissy. he was chiriping to ozzy behind the plays, chirping to lidstom...he talks like a tough guy to our classy staff...hes a punk. i bood every time he was in our corner...punk. he was whining to the refs during the commercial breaks too, and meanwhile we was hooking and interfering like nuts. i liked him till tonight...going to a game really gives you perspective on some players more than TV shows you. I met Gordie Howe again. He was selling his book and signing them for 70 bucks. I bought one, and got it signed for me and my gf. Got some wicked pics too, and of the game, and the octopus , which came out of the scoreboard bottom tonight. I told gordie he had huge hands, and if darren doesnt play he should get out there...he told me "my elbows do the talking" and laughed heheh...what a great guy...he told me at my size i should go out there...which i declined LMFAO! MAN WHAT A GAME....i dont know what it looked like on TV, but we really controlled the puck well, and looked like we're in it to win it. Iits not about dallas being tired, they just didnt have control of the puck, cause we controled it! MULE AGAIN! woo hooo BTW you can feel the heat from the flame throwers on top of the scoreclock all the way on the ice! was wicked! kowalski kielbasa, MGD, a wings big win in the conference finals, and meeting gordie again...what a night i will never forget.! reminds me of the couple goals Yzerman scored on his back or falling down...just impossible goals....i think one was a milestone marker against pittsburgh, maybe even for his 500th if i remember. totally like an yzerman play in the prime of his career....but this was in the playoffs. you know what, just like healey said before the game....the Wings look on a mission now.....whether Colorado was healthy or not, it's done....the Wings are now the team to beat , and Colorado wouldnt do it even healthy. FOR ONCE THEY SAID SOMETHING NICE ABOUT DETROIT ON TSN...which is even harder to believe than that goal by Z. Funny how these "experts " on TSN are starting to say the Wings should win it all (except that bonehead who always sucks, bob mackenzie)....all these same people unanimously chose colorado as the winner of the series before game one...saying colorado in 5. yeah right. lol oh well, point of this thread is HOLY DAMN HE!! that goal was AMAZING...and Dats just was patient, and somehow knew Zetts would do something amazing with it.
