No...now that they lost, Colorado is only four up on the Wings. Not all that out of reach. I just want the Wings in the playoffs, but if they can avoid CHI/SJ in the first round it would be nice.

Well the good news is the Wings would only be four back of the five seed with a win against the Oilers with a Calgary win.

A Flames loss tonight and a Wings win a Friday will put the Wings in really good shape. Especially with the way the schedule is set up for the last month of the season for the Wings.

If the Wings were in the East, they would be in 5th and 9 points ahead of the 9 seed. The West is just ridiculous.

My heart was POUNDING. Felt like a playoff game. Their crowd was horrible though. The Joe usually sounds really quiet on TV, that was way quieter.

Call me crazy, but I loved the Coyotes 90's look, especially their logo. Just screams "Arizona." -
I will say this...if I'm Chicago or San Jose (especially the Sharks), the last team I want to see in the first round is the Wings. This team (when healthy) is not your typical 8 seed, more like a 4 at worst. Like someone else said, it wouldn't surprise me if this team either crapped out in the first round, or went all the way. It depends what team shows up, and how well Howard handles the playoffs. It's going to suck ass if they miss the playoffs though.

Yeah, it sounds like their offseason is going to be a lot like the one that the Wings had last year. Their core will still be together, but a lot of their depth will go out the window. -

Is it fairly common in Canada for people to play (or whatever you would call it) curling? Serious question, I probably wouldn't even know what curling was if it weren't for the olympics.

Won't change until ESPN stops treating it like arena football. Pretty sad how much of an impact ESPN has on the popularity of a sport in an entire country.

Yay lets argue over the Olympics!!! Jesus, guys...it's the freaking Olympics. I've never seen people get so riled up over figure skating and curling in my life. Canada won a lot of gold...we get it, congratulations. But to gloat about f'ing figure skating....wow.

Dude, it's the freaking Olympics. I really didn't care one way or the other. I wanted to see Yzerman and Babs win. It would have been nice to see the US win, but it's really not a big deal. I'm sure most American hockey fans feel the same way. Canada winning the gold is the equivalent of USA Basketball winning the gold. Based on their roster, they should have won. It's not worth partying or getting depressed over. -

I'll be shocked if the US wins. Would love to see it, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Said the same thing when they played last week too though, so who knows.

Except Hull originally wanted to play for Canada and they gave him the finger. That's why I don't understand why Canadians always used to act like Hull was some kind of traitor because he played for the US.
