Because a hell of a lot more people in Vancouver care about the Canucks than any of those cities care about their hockey team. Nashville and Washington would have parking lot parades. It would be like the Lions winning a Superbowl here. Sure a lot of people like the Wings, but the Lions are way more popular.

Don't have a problem with them at all, they're an awesome team and they have a hometown boy on their team (Kesler). I think most people just wanted them to lose because it would knock out a strong team and one of the favorites to win the whole thing. If the Wings don't win, I want Vancouver to because that city deserves a cup.

I don't know about more vulnerable, but I don't think they're any better than last year. I would say they're about the same. To me Niemi vs. Nabokov is a wash. The Wings are better though. It's definitely in the Wings best interest to play Nashville though IMO. I want revenge from last year, but it can wait another round (if both make it). Nashville is no slouch by any means, but home ice and travel definitely make it more favorable.

The best part about this win is it means Zetterberg has absolutely no reason to come back too soon. The absolute earliest that we'll need him is a week from Wednesday, if Phoenix somehow forces a game 7. He could easily be 100% by the time the second round starts, assuming it's like late next week.

I don't agree with you, but I know what you're saying. I'm a wreck during Wings playoff games. If it's a one goal game in the third period, my heart is pounding the entire time. I love watching other teams though.

Just got back too...amazing. Loved the "Todd Bertuzzi chants." His fight and the five on three kill really got the crowed fired up. My ears are still ringing.

I'm a little but more optimistic, I think if they beat Phoenix, that would give him two more weeks. Hopefully that would at least get him healthy enough to play. I think they have the depth to beat Phoenix without him, but I'm not so sure that they can make it any further. Someone mentioned that they played a lot of games without Datsyuk in 09...that team was WAY deeper.

This tells me he's going to miss more than one game. He can't even walk. I'll be really surprised if he plays in this series.

Just looking at the standings and the remaining schedules, I'm thinking the Wings will end up with Phoenix. Phoenix and San Jose play twice, I'm assuming they'll split The Wings and Chicago play twice, I'm assuming they'll split LA and Anaheim play twice, I'm assuming they'll split I'm assuming Nashville will win their last two games (CBJ & STL) 1. VAN 2. SJ 3. DET 4. NSH 5. LA 6. PHO 7. ANA 8. CHI I could live with that. I'd prefer LA over Phoenix, but Phoenix would be my second choice out of the bunch.
