This is just awful. Sorry to hear about all of the people aboard, but Salei's passing stings the most. Especially after all the conflicting reports which gave hope that maybe he wasn't one of the victims. He seemed like such a nice, humble guy who loved his family. It breaks my heart thinking about the fact that he just had a child.

Take a look at the box score again. Nashville only scored after the first one. Bertuzzi fought for the first time, Nashville scored 3 goals, the Red Wings called a time out, Bertuzzi fought for the second time, Nashville scored 0 times, the Red Wings scored 4 goals and won the game. So technically, the Red Wings scored following both fights

I thought the game was supposed to start at 10:30. Anyone know when the Wings will start playing?

I predict our second line will win 23 - 1. The one goal that the Ducks score will cause a 6 page debate on whether or not Howard should have had it. Go Wings.

Like you said, it's all in hindsight, but it's just a little bit hard to swallow that we took Jesse Wallin over the likes of Chara. You have to think the Wings really saw something in Wallin back then. But it's nice to think that the Red Wings are often a team that leaves other teams wondering how they missed out on players. Think of all the players taken before Zetterberg, Datsyuk or Ericsson.

What an irrelevant question to pose in a thread about Thomas Kopecky, especially in response to the post about him getting his ass kicked in the playoffs last year. The Ducks had just scored their third goal, making the game 5-3 about half way through the third. A minute later, Beauchemin cross checks Kopecky until he drops his gloves, then pulverizes him. Beauchemin was trying to keep the momentum going for the Ducks and Kopecky was stupid enough to let him succeed. Kopecky didn't stand up for anyone, he got baited into a fight and got embarrassed.
